Hi Flagg,

Thanks for taking the time to post on my thread, your support is gretly appreciated, sorry about not being able to get to the end of your 2013 challenge especially as i was one of the ones who was eagerly awaiting you setting it up. I still read that thread everyday and it is a massive help.

Reading back through your diary your progress has been quite remarkable, enjoy your recovery now, it seems like a strange thing to say but we have to get out there and be positive and you are one of the best at doing this.

Keep doing what you do mate

Good Evening Diary,

Day 221 - Just a quick fly by for me tonight. Off to GA for my weekly dose. The combination of that and this site has been a lifesaver and I mean that almost literally. Not everyone is a fan of GA the same can be said not everyone is a fan of here. I say that both offer support in the quest to stay bet free and I am happy to use every aid available.

Catch up with all you good people tomorrow.

Day 221 - All the aids.

Afternoon,

Day 222 - Been analysing my gambling quite a lot recently and trying to pinpoint the trigger(s) in some ways I guess this could be dangerous but on the other hand it's quite important to me to understand why I went from a gambler to an out of control gambler.

The simple answer is I'm an addict and I accept I have an addiction. However, I also want to know the trigger, the spark. Trying not to dwell on it too much but it is tough.

Other than my obsessive thinking I feel fine. Glad it's Friday and another weekend lies in waiting free from gambling and living a new happier existence.

Wishing all an equally pleasant weekend,

Day 222 - Overthink!

Hi Flagg

well done you for remaining strong and no gambling. Good that you analyse things and learn your triggers if you can...for me I can't find the triggers but know that I have to keep one step ahead of making sure I don't go down that dark path again.

You made me so laugh with your game show idea's in chat....still waiting for you to appear as the first contestant lol

Keep strong Flagg and take care

have a good weekend

hi flagg

Thanks for the words of encouragement

I am treating the marathon and this journey similarly as in I know its a long step but bit by bit am getting there, and every now and then treating myself for the hard work and determination put in

They both trigger each other to keep my fighting and the reason I'm where I am is because good people like yourself were there when I needed it at the beginning

So keep doing what your doing and don't over analyze cos you doing a fantastic job

You can't change past but can dictate the future

Morning Diary,

Day 223 - Film review this morning. Went to see Skyfall last night. I guess I can be overcritical at times which actually is irrelevant because my opinion doesn't matter lol.

For what it's worth though did anyone else think they were watching The Dark Knight again? I thought there were massive similarities particularly with Javier Bardem's character and the Joker. The film was still alright but I have heard some amazing reviews for this film and I just cannot see how it was THAT good.

Right, finished my little rant and now I should prob mention Gmabling. That's why I came here and that's why I keep the site close. Truth is though it doesn't really cross my mind well not the act of doing it at least. Been on a really great run for a while now no urges etc I guess my only issue is what I mentioned yesterday, this overthinking the Why's and What If's. If that remained my only gambling issue going forward though I could live with it.

I remain on an even keel maybe slight left of centre but I think that keeps me on my toes. Off to football and then friends round tonight so I will playing chef. Not quite Dunc's level but I have a go.

A Happy Saturday I hope,

Day 223 - Skyfall 7 out of 10

Good Morning,

Day 224 - 32 Weeks bet free and feel really pleased with how life has changed in that time. The time just races by yet we manage to get so much done. We are quite incredible creatures really. Wow that's deep!

No great plans for my Sunday nothing wrong with that. I feared spare time at the beginning of this journey, I have now come to appreciate it. There are many many fine lines in recovery and I would say boredom, and rest are one! Today I choose to rest I am not bored.

I will occupy my time with a film or a game and this will help me recharge for the week ahead. As a gambler the mind never stops it's dangerous. I am now 32 weeks away from the danger zone.

Day 224 - Rest!

Hi Flagg,

Thankyou for your support and lovely posts I appreciate them so much.

We really are incredible creatures we overcome so many things and my greatest achievement so far is beating gambling and also kicking some Americans a**e once on the playstation lol. My dad said I should of been a bloke yet I dress like a real girly girl apart from when I go to football lol.

I to appreciate rest much more now and don't see it as boredom just some much needed me time something I never had when i gambled.

Hope that Monday is kind to you and amazing to see so many check in already 5 weeks to my holiday yayyyy.

Take care and once again thank you

Blondie x
