DAY 73
Well what a weekend.
Firstly thanks Castle, Duncs and Michael. What can I say, my team Palace, never do things the easy way, it was a real sweat yesterday but thoroughly enjoyed the match, we played well and deserved our place in the Play-offs. We even spent three hours after the game, speaking and shaking hands with the players. All In all I spoke and shook hands with Harry Redknapp & Steve Cotterell who were apparently there to watch the game. Damien Delaney, Glenn Murray, Wilf Zaha, Andrew Moritz, Johnny Williams, Julian Speroni and Danny Gabbidon. Going to try to get my play-off tickets tomorrow for both games.
Jo is down, we had a celebratory Indian take away last night and today I've been to my sisters for a BBQ. Now at home relaxing watching a very boring game between Man Utd and Chelsea.
Added bonus day off tomorrow.
Money is short but no gambling thoughts and have paid all bills and everyone back.
Life is good.
Day 74
All is well, just tired, so going to watch the live football in bed and have a snooze. 🙂
Andy.
My friend you have sure put in the efforts in this period of abstinence and you are reaping the reward for that effort.
Long may it continue my friend.
Well done, you should be very proud.
Duncs stepping forward never back.
Day 75
Thanks Duncan mate, think the anti-depressants have helped me. I advise anyone who has a gambling problem, who also feels depressed most days to get on them. They have helped me and I've picked up my next two months worth today.
Life is still short of money but I'm by far, a much happier and content person. Determined to keep it going, no urges to break up my good run.
Well done Wilsy. Glad to hear you are still doing great and remaining strong and resilient. Keep up the great work.
Take care.
Feb.
Andy.
Fella I will be watching the game tonight with great interest.
I hope you got a ticket and enjoy every minute.
Come on the eagles!!!!!
Duncs stepping forward never back.
DAY 79
Thanks for your posts Feb and Dunc.
I was at the game on Friday Duncan, the atmosphere was brilliant and I believe a draw was a fair result. Shame we lost murray to injury but I'm proud of the team, regardless of what happens on Monday.
Still remaining strong, no urges to talk about, just the odd flash thought of having a bet but these don't last long. Can't believe I will be 80 days free tomorrow. Pushing on now to the 100 day mark, must not and will not fail this time!
Have a great Sunday everyone
Hey Wilsy,
Thanks for your encouragement. Great to see you're still going strong!
Keep it up fella!
Stubbsy 🙂
Wilsy,
Ref: Anti-Depressents
I am fine and I am usually a fairly positive person I am just feeling down because of my recent slip and because I have set myself back a few months with my debt repayment. My drug of choice is exercise. I ran ten miles this morning and felt great. I could have run further and felt fabulous physically and mentally afterwards. I have never been on such medication before so cannot judge but you mention how great you feel since taking the pills but perhaps you feel great because you have went almost 80 days free from gambling. Gambling will cause us mental stress, bouts of depression and a general feeling of not being happy with ourselves. So although you attribute your upturn in how you look at yourself now to the pills perhaps it has a lot to do with the commitment you have shown to your recovery. You no longer participate in the very thing that made you feel so depressed. As previously mentioned, I am not qualified to comment but I just wanted you to be aware of the awesome progress you have made yourself by the changes you have made in your life i.e. stopped gambling.
Keep up the good work.
I will keep my fingers crossed for Palace in the play-off return leg.
Tomso.
Mornin Andy
Congrats to palace for getting through to final , the 120 million pound game ! Hope u manage to get to Wembley and see it whether u enjoy it remains to be seen lol
