159 days completed, very content at moment even though a tad hot tonight. Jo is back this weekend, it's her birthday so looking forward to seeing her and treating her, even though I can't really afford it, my wages aren't very much nowadays but that's life, it's better to earn less and not gamble than it was to earn more, which I did, and gamble the lot!

Andy.

Fella i hope your weekend is full of more rewards for your efforts my friend.

Truly deserved.

Pompeys season kicks off today, we face the mighty oxford a good opener as they are a decent outfit. And we sold out of tickets which is amazing.

DAY 164

Thank you everyone for your support, I am very happy and proud of myself at the moment but will continue to remain on my guard.

For me at the moment I do still think of gambling once or twice a day. I could easily go and have a bet but I have blocks in place but with the shops I could go to, I remain adamant I won't. I handle all of my own money now, for me I wanted to persist with this, as part of my recovery is about learning how to handle my own expenses. What I have realised is I am awful with it, I just find other things to spend my money on and I still can't budget, I don't think I'll ever be able to do this but that's the way I am built, I've accepted it.

Found out today my granddads stomach cancer has spread to his brain, so sadly he won't have him with us much longer. I will visit him on the weekend which might be the last time.

Went to work this morning and lighting has fried the phone system and the lines coming into the building. I told my boss I was better off taking a day off holiday, as opposed to sitting there doing nothing, so I went and got my sisters dog 'Archie', who was at my dads (Sister is away), took him down the coast with a bottle of cold water and a dog bowl and walked the little sod 8 miles, which I would and have never done before. He has now had a bath and is sleeping next to me. This is the life I have chosen and I want it to continue this way.

My girlfriend's birthday today, we are getting on much better. took her out for two birthday dinners over the weekend and treated her even though I can't really afford it but I'm not going to worry about money anymore, I'm going to enjoy spending it on the good things in life.

Wilsy,

Thanks for the kind words on my diary. Also, congrats on your continued progress. It makes me ever so sad/jealous to think that were once going along together at the start of our recovery and I have stood still whereas you have moved forward massively.

I am sorry to hear about your granddad.

P.S. Two birthday dinners. She is a lucky lady.

Tomso.
