well i have got to five months gambling free today.

I thought I would list some of the pros and cons of my non gambling lifestyle.

PROS

I dont have to lie anymore.

I dont have to fear the postman coming anymore.

I have more time to spend with my family.

I have more money in my pocket.

I dont wake up hating myself anymore.

I dont dread reading my bank statements.

I can concentrate on my job more.

I dont feel alone anymore.

I laugh more.

I feel happy most of the time.

I dont have that horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach anymore.

CONS

Cant think of any.

There are many more pros than i can think of right now, but I honestly cant think of any cons.

To anyone reading this who is trying to stop gambling...Please persevere, I know it is hard sometimes but the benefits of non gambling really are worth the effort. life becomes so much better day by day.

Change your habits.

dont carry spare cash with you.

install gamblock on your pc.

cancell credit cards.

Do whatever it takes to stop you placing that first bet.

all the best

Jim

Sorry my post is a day late - no computer - but was aware that the 5 month marker was met last night. You are a bloody revelation mate - I think there is a mini revolution happening on this site (against gambling) and led by Jim.

You have set the benchmark Jim, loved the post about pros and cons - where are the cons? There are none - we have all found a NEW path and you've helped us stay on that path Jim. Thank you mate - enjoy the week-end.

All the best

Hatch

havent posted much the past few days as i havent thought about gambling at all. i must admit it was nice to have a few days off without betting crossing my mind at all.

some goods news is that at long last we had a new giraffe arrive at work yesterday. it is good to finally get the first animal in to replace the ones that were killed by the fire back in febuary. The giraffe house has been empty for too long.
