Hi all

i have been away all week at a zoo conference in yorkshire hence the lack of posts.

All is well however and I am still gambling free.

Will catch up on the diaries when i finish work tonight.

well i am back from work after another tireing day at work. (I am sure that elephant poo just gets heavier and heavier).

just had a week away at Flamingo land in yorkshire where i had to give a talk to other keepers and curators, etc about positive reinforcement training for elephants...very scary!!

It seemed to go down well though so chuffed with that.

I am feeling at peace with myself and my world at the moment, all is going well and I seem to be keeping the gambling demons at bay.

My six month exclusion from my local bookies is now up and I am going to renew them on Tuesday (my next day off work) so am a little nervous about actually going in the bookies to do this. i think jackie is coming with me though so that will help.

Anyway, take care everyone who reads this and stay strong.

Hi

I am new here, I have just readed parts of your diary.

I am glad to hear you exclused yourself from local bookies, this is first thing i did yesterday, I also canceled my internet accounts.

don`t be nervous to go to bookies to renew your exclusion, just watch other peoples in there, they all need help, and be thankfull you are not one of them anymore.

Remember all days and nights you spent i there and wasted your money and your life, and enjoy your life as it is now 🙂

Hi Jim

Sorry this is a bit late, but wanted to add my best wishes to you on your 6 month milestone.

I would like to make a suggestion if i may Jim,? if you ring the customer helpline of your local bookies and explain the situation re your self exclusion im sure they can extend it for you without you actually going back to the shop.Im sure that if you were a "regular" the manager will be familiar with you?

Anyways just a thought

Take Care Jim

Stay Strong

Kim xx

want to add my support to what has been said already.

well done on your 6 months, it really doesnt seem like that time does it?????????/

yeah stay strong on monday, but i am sure that you know the reasons why you will self excclude rather than join in. you really dont want to do that anymore do you????

today is a good day, and i am living every moment to my full potential

went to all my local bookies and renewed my self exclusions for another six months today.

Didnt like being in the bookies but Jackie came with me and it wasn't too bad.

Anyway all done untill may next year.

So onward and upward.

I'm not sure I am qualified to respond to your message. I am a new recruit who is a week in to his new life. Just wanted to say I read your post and wanted to wish you all the best in your recovery process. I feel strong at the moment, but i know there will be times when it is harder than others. People like your self are an inspiration to me, because I now know this battle can be won.
