I fully intend to des.

It has been almost 18 months since I last had a bet thanks to GA and that is proof to me that I am on the right track.

I will get down there one day Jim and say hello. Where i used to travel miles to go to a dog or horse track i now enjoy going to different meetings all over.

Well done to you.

Hope you do Keith. you will be made very welcome.

Anyway,I had a mad moment on friday night...I drank a bottle of wine and booked a couple of flights to Amsterdam for Jac and myself...The perils of drinking and internet access!!!!

So it seems we are going on holiday again in two weeks time...twice in one year...that never happened when I was gambling.

oh jim, u have set that green eyed monster loose in my head

i love amsterdam with a passion.

Not been there for a while, and now you have mentioned it, and my hubby is retiring, just might get round to nagging him a bit.

great news on the getting the regonition for your meeting, you and jac have worked so hard, and now it looks like its paying off.

it is good to see people genuinely succeeding in their quests to make a difference in the world.

Good to catch up with you jim, take care

I dreamt last night that i had bet again. I dont remember the details but I woke up feeling like s**t and absolutly convinced that I had had a bet. It took me quite a while to realise it was all a dream.

Horrible, but at least it has reminded me of what I will feel like if I ever do get tempted and go back to gambling.

jim, its ok, it was a dream, and you are ok!

think you are right about the reminders though, maybe its our subconscious way of keeping us in check.

I think that there are triggers for certain types of dreams, who knows what you unconsciously saw, thought, heard, and the tape played in your head.

so maybe a good warning for you, and one to keep you alert to what is going on for you, inside you!

take care

Hi Jim

Dreams are there soem good and some bad, gmabking was with us for so long so it will rear its ugly head once in a while in our dreams, during our road of recovery we stil talk and discuss what gambling did to us, I agree with Carol its proabally a subconcious way and a gentle reminder..

But you are ahead now Jim, had a dream about gambling, didn`t go and gamble and was honest about how you feel..

The gambling demons aren`t going to bring you down and they try every sneaky way tehy can to get inside our heads..I see the gremlins as little bugs teh ones you swat away but they come back to try and nab us while we are sleeping, but they come back less and less jim cause you are swating them away every time xx

I am only 62 days into my recovery , reading your post wil stay with me a reminder to be aware and dreams happen and they can be dealt with..

All My Love

Lynn

Thanks Carol and Lynn.

No more dreams, not of the gambling sort anyway!!

I am getting excited about going to Amsterdam as the day of departure gets closer..its going to be a nice relaxing break for Jac and myself.

I am going to the exeter GA meeting tomorrow as it is a friend of mines 12th "birthday", it is also another friends 15th "birthday " the week after, but I cant be there for that one as I will be in Amsterdam.

take care all

i really hope you enjoy your trip to amsterdam. I went to visit a friend of mine who was living in Germany a couple of years ago and we went to Amsterdam for a day trip. Little did we know it was Queen's day! It was crazy there were 10s of 1000s of people in the streets drinking and partying. It was definitely an experience! Once thing we did when there though was to go to Anne Frank's house. Although I am generally not into war stories and films and things Anne Frank caught my imagination when i was a child. I guess I was about the same age as her when she was in hiding when i read her diary and i loved it. Going to her house was something i've wanted to do for a long time. It was great and I felt that all the noise and partying going on in the streets below made the whole thing even more pertinant. If you get chance to i would recommend it to ya!
