Hi Jim, hope your meeting went well. You are living proof that changing your life and following the recovery program does work but as you say it takes a lot of hard work and you are now both benefitting from that.

I went to a GA Meeting near me when i returned almost 6 months ago and there was only 3 people there of which 1 was a non gambler. That meeting has now closed but it saved me and has helped turn my life round so keep up the good work.

Best wishes

Keith

I'm posting this on as many diaries as I can because this is how I feel. I read this in one of my G.A. books.

"I can always take strength and comfort from knowing I belong to a worldwide fellowship. Thousands just like me are working together for the same purpose. None of us needs ever to be alone again, because each of us in our own way works for the good of others. We are bound together by a common problem that can be solved by love and understanding and mutual service.-

'Today I will remember - I have a world of friends.

God Bless

Charly

jim i'm really pleased about your group taking off. there is a meeting near here where i know only 5 or 6 people go. It doesn't matter whether there are 2 or 20. If it helps just 2 people then that is 2 people who are further along in their road to recovery than they may have been if they hadn't been able to go to ga. our ga group is a really large one with 22 regularly turning up and sometimes that can be really daunting - especially for new members. i think smaller groups tend to be better as it is more intimate, you get to know people better and people feel happier in sharing with less people.

keep it up you're doin well!

Hi Darling,

Happy Anniversary x Yes, 19 yrs married. 'Could of killed you and been out by now' ....and how I didn't some years ago I don't know !! lol

Well, we don't do too bad do we? I think we have come along way in our lives together.

This addiction of yours has taken its toll on us over the years but I am so proud of what you have achieved, how much you have learnt, how strong you have become.

This addiction I know can literally kill. I hate it with a passion for how it takes hold, what it does to people and their lives.

It will always be part of our lives I know that and I except that because you are a compulsive gambler.

With you in recovery and as long as you and I never forget its power, never get complacent about it. I think we have a good chance of celebrating again, next year.

What do you reckon ? ....you up for another year? (One day at a time, of course 😉 lol)

Love you

Jackie xxx

(((Jackie and Jim))))

19 years.

wonderful.

I love...that you are both here....BOTH...sharing your recoveries with all of us....and showing...in a completely DIFFERENT sort of way...that life does go on...that things CAN get better...that...as bad as things get....there IS a way out..and that we can repair RELATIONSHIPS that we've damaged (as well as repairing our own lives)....often...we are so convinced that that is just not do-able....hopeless...

PROOF...is here....thank you both for that....and for sharing so openly....your feelings toward one another...with all of us....

happy anniversary...

a pleasure to 'know' you both 🙂

Love,

Peg

and Jac -- thanks for writing...I'm doing so so good....a bit over-extended...need to look at where I can scale back...but....am doing REAL things....good stuff!

Happy anniversary jim and jac, Yours is a remarkable journey, i gain great strength from many many posts on here. Am only 5 days clear today with my first weekend approaching but you are a success story to me. i know its one day at a time and not to get at all complacent and never to forget the bad times. I will always try and remember those words. Thanks to jim and to your brilliantly supportive wife jac.

Thought I would drag this up from the depths of the diary vaults as its your birthday today....And at your age you can forget where you have left things!! lol

So Happy Birthday and thank you for all you do. Life is good without gambling in it, it gives us so many choices and so much freedom. Without your hard work and determination none of this would of been possible.

Thanks for all the Anniversary good wishes...19 years..Jac is such a lucky woman!!!

Thanks too for all the birthday greetings...48 years young...again Jac is such a lucky woman!!!

There are two more events coming up to celebrate. The first is that Paignton GA group is one year old on Friday 14th of this month. I cant believe that it is a year ago that I started the group and it is still going!!!

The next isn't until next month, but it will be two years since i last had a bet on 22nd April......dont wanna jump the gun but I know that I will make it to this date without a bet.

Life without gambling is good.

Growing old with Jac is good.

Even supporting Torquay United this season is good.

There is the key to happyness...

1. Stop gambling.

2. Find a Jac to love.

3. Support Torquay United.

Take care all

Jim (last bet 22/04/06)

Hi Jim...congrats for everything. Going from strength to strength, which is just as well once Jac becomes the bionic woman.

Best wishes
