many congratulations - so what is the secret? What one thing did it for you - or was it a series of small strategies? I'm only at 75 days 'clean' so have a bit of catching up to do - but I find you and your posts most helpful - here's to 5 years!

Good open meeting last night....I am now wearing my two year pin with pride 🙂

Secrets ?....I dont think that there are any, just a realisation that I am and always will be a compulsive gambler, coupled with the fact that I will do ANYTHING to keep me away from that first bet.

Hi Jim

Am glad you had a good meeting last night and are wearing your pin with pride.

I'm sad that I missed it, but it was just too far to come just for the evening.

When we come your way in the summer(we're planning on camping) I will pop in and visit, I promise.

Love to You and Jac

God Bless

Charly

I like the fact that there is no magic secret - just a determination from you that you will not go back to old ways. I sense that you will never allow complacency to creep in yet you ae never anxious about your situation - but happy that you have the controla nd the willpower. I also enjoy reading your posts to others because they are always so grounded and fairminded. Bests JG

Hi Jim,

Well done on staying away from your addiction for so long a fantastic landmark and long may it continue. I have nearly been free for one month and know that I still have a long long way to go, but by reading your diary (yes all of it) you have given me the vision of the future that I want and will get. you have shown us who are just starting out the way ahead and I want to say thank you.

all the very best. Minty

Well I am just about to go to work on this very nerve wracking bank holiday. I haven't felt this nervous for a long time..and why???

Because its the semi final, second leg of the play offs and Torquay are playing Exeter. I just hope and pray that we can hold on to our slight lead and are going to Wembley again on 18 may.

Come on you yellows

Oh and I am still bet free.

Good luck today - I reckon they will be ok.

Must say I would fancy Cambridge in the final though.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your post, I am always pleased to hear from you, as I Know that I will never be able to catch you up and that you will aways be years ahead of me, but each landmark you reach confirms in my mind that it can be done, I will make sure that I will reach those landmarks to. Thanks again mate and keep posting. Minty

Sorry mate - put the kiss of death on that for you. An absolute choker no doubt.

At least I didn't bet on it!

Hi Jim hoe you are ok and not too dissapointed with the end of the football season.

Must have been a big choker losing to Exeter and then losing at Wembley.

I hope that if you went to Wembley you had a great day out and next season will sonn be here.

So keep the faith.

Cheers guys

Its been a tough old week for a Torquay supporter, but I did have a great day out at Wembley, even though we lost. The place is just amazing and the whole day didnt cost me anything as our local radio station took me and my daughter free of charge..executive box too!!!!!!

But I didnt bet and every day that passes without a bet is a good day for me.

I just love not gambling, live is for living, with all its ups and downs, Life is not for wasting anymore.

Hello you x

I'm so glad that gambling is no longer part of our lives, it was killing us both slowly.

I cannot thank you enough for your support lately. I would not be able to cope without it (don't like admitting it tho!)

My nights & days are just one big struggle at the moment as you know, and its just so hard but you keep me going.

So I just wanted to say 'thanks' for all that you are doing. I'm not sure the 'old' Jim would of coped with all this...well, your 'coping' would of been blocking it all out down the bookies no doubt!

I just love having ALL of you now and I love you very much. Just make sure you take time for 'you' around all my problems. I worry about the strain it puts on you.

Jackie xxx
