Hi toad , sorry your thinking of leaving the forum but I do ask myself the question why ? , could you not use this as an extra tool alongside your counciling ? , It can take us many years to discover who we are and why we do the things we do and some of us never truely understand why , so wouldn't it make more sense to continue here at the very least until your counciling begins ?.
Ultimately it's your call buddy and only you know what you need !
Stay well my friend .
Alan
Hi Toad how has today gone hope you managed to get through today
Morning folks,
Appologies my last post was misleading. I meant i wanted to quit gambling not gamcare lol
Yesterday wasn't great i was in the bookies. Ate my lunch and watched some racing. I did a couple of bets.
Obviously this is crazy i know. But i managed to lodge money in the bank. I am clearing my overdraft today. So tomorrow i start debt free.
So today i am meeting friends for beers. Looking forward to it. One of my mates split from his girlfriend of 8 years in 2015 so he is wanting to end the year on a high 🙂
I will go out from 1pm to 6pm. This Toad will be hopping around drunk.
I want to wish all gamcare members a peacefull and happy 2016.
I know for one I will face my demons and try to quit gambling with renewed determination. This Toad has a fire in his belly.
Toad
Good morning Toad,
Nice positive post and fab to hear you are back on board (but never really been away!!).
Best wishes for a cracking new years eve and a gamble free 2016.
Morning Toad , great news buddy , have a great night and I wish you a gamble free 2016 !
All the best ..................Alan
Hi Toad, I might sound harsh but why did you go to the bookies to eat your lunch? Many times you have said in your diary that going to the bookies for lunch leads to you having some bets!! If you consider the time, location, money triangle you are proactively making sure you have the time and location!
It is great that you will keep using the forum but many posts you make have some reference to gambling and very few actually detail actions you are taking to stop. I hope you can let us know when you have self excluded from the bookies or taken other actions to make it more difficult to gamble. Have a good afternoon but remember that the booze often leads to a slip - another think that can be seen your diary!
All the best and I hope 2016 is a great gamble free year for you.
Good to hear that toad, wasn't sure what you meant lol.
Happy New Year's Eve to you, keep safe and enjoy

Hello Folks,
Thanks for comments. I take your point half-life. I need to limit the potential for damage.
At 10.00 am today i did my plums and onions in. Feeling pretty sad. I had ВЈ30 on me i was chasing as i lost £250 yesterday.
So tomorrow is definately day 1. Time to pack it in. I owe £250. Will take a few months to pay off.
I have no cash the rest of the week as i blew my weekly allowance. Do i ever learn?
It's in the past. I need to carry little cash from now on.
Getting really sick of this now!
Traumatised Toad.
Morning Toad,
Was hoping for a positive happy post but never mind.
No money = no gamble.
It's as simple as that. Weekly allowance at £30. C'mon Toad.
No weekly allowance is a start. No excuses, no rubbish, no c**P.
If you want to stop - try and block temptations and keep barriers high.
Never mind traumatised Toad. How about "put a bit of effort in Toad".
C'mon now. We are all there to advise, listen, help etc but let's have some good positive posts and what steps you are going to use to stop.
Best wishes
Hello Balvaird,
Wise words and i appreciate them. I will try with a renewed effort. Tomorrow is day 1.
It's not easy for me but i don't have cash so no gamble this week and beyond.
Toad
Hi again,
Glad to hear it. Will look out for a positive post tomorrow.
Best wishes
I to was hoping it would be a positive post I actually looked up your diary at about 10 this morning hoping to see an update of no gambling.
It easy to not gamble when you have no funds the test comes when you do so but that block in place don't carry any money when you have find available, try it for just a week try and break that cycle.
Good luck fella I really mean that
Hello Folks,
Just home. Reflecting on today. Feeling okay just. Quite tired after today.
Going for a run tonight might clear my head. In a couple of months I might clear my overdraft.
As long as I quit from today I can minimise the damage. I don't want to run up more bills.
Anyway tomorrow is a new day.
Good luck in your recovery all.
Toad.
Hi toad,
Willpower alone won't work my friend, we are CGs, we need barriers, support and help to overcome this horrible addiction, yes it's easy to abstain when we have no funds, it's when we have funds/money that it is hard and that is why we need to take drastic measures, but thst only happens when we really want it to.
Take care my friend and keep safe

Day 1
Thankyou I wished for your comments. Today I won't gamble. I have £20 on me but I am lodging it in the bank today. No gambling for me today 🙂 This Toad is staying put on the lily pad lol
Anyway, feeling better today. I ran with the running club last night. It helped me sleep all through the night. It always helps to get a good nights sleep to rest the body and soul.
I work in debt recovery myself. Yesterday a manager interviewed someone with gambling issues. If only she knew my gambling past. I keep it secret from my work as I don't want to look bad. The good thing is I relate to people who owe money. I have been there myself and I know the pain.
In life everyone has their own battles. Good luck everyone in their recovery.
Toadfully terrific Toad. Ribit
Affected by gambling?
