Well done on getting through that first week, I often find that being tired going to bed is often better than ending up with too much energy and idle time that used to lead me to thoughts of gambling.

Keep strong and that first week will soon turn into several weeks, and so on.

All the best

Ryan

Day 13, I've had lots of urges today but have all the security settings in place and am pleased I have not given in, although I probably would've if it was easier. Just got to keep remembering I have no money and if I start gambling I will never win as I can't stop.... Stay strong guys S x

Hey S,

Well done for 13 days g free..it will get easier 🙂 I am in recovery for nearly 9 months and find the blocks immense help uptil now.

Urges are only thoughts, and they go away in time. On these moments you have to do anything possible to take ur mind of it..just keep busy.

You are doing great and little by little you will reach that balance..less urges, more normality and happiness in your life.

Never forget - you are no1 and in a driving seat to make your life better!!

Be proud, doing well, 2 weeks tommorow!!!! Great job!!!

Day at a time

Sandra x

15 days today, having very strong urges but not going to give in, always find it difficult on these dull boring days, would prefer to be at work but got a day off. Most people would be pleased about a day off but not me, I always find boredom causes temptations to gamble, stay strong S x

Hi S,

Boredom eh? Yep, definitely can relate to that. I struggle with days off sometimes too.

What if you swap ur boredom to energy? Let's say a walk in a park, cleaning, cooking, going to see friend ( even ring friend ), or just grab a book and settle down on sofa. There are many things to do, and everything works to take ur mind away from urges.

You are in control and can override the urges..stick around here, read some stories, go through ur diary...see why u are here in a first place. If that don't help, contact GC...they help a lot to come back to senses and you have a opportunity to explore ur feelings.

Urges are only thoughts...you don't have act on them my friend.

Strength and honour.

Well done on 15 days, perfect start to freedom!!!

Take care

Day 18 today, and another dull gloomy day, really wish the Spring time was here and I could get out and about more. Urges are strong again as they always are at weekends but I will not give in...

Hey S,

You've been really really quiet for a fortnight now - are you ok? I'm just checking in with my fellow soldiers. Let me know how you are and even drop into my diary to say hi - would be appreciated.
