Well done on getting through pay day and the weekend! Both tough times.

Enjoy the clothes - they're a reward for going through the week!

Keep it up.

Not updated in a week but still going strong, 14 days GF. Have been reading other people's diaries during the week and us gamblers have a lot in common (neglecting family, lying, wasting time) I wouldn't be happy stopping till I physically had no more access to cash. I am beginning to see how much happier I am and find I have more free time to do the things I enjoy, really hope I can keep it up! The self exclusion is helping me massively as I am not an online gambler so all the local temptation is taken away. Anyway day off today so going to relax and get an early night before early shifts this week.

Update - day 28 GF

Feeling great and had no temptations. Been working a lot and picking up overtime to keep busy aswell as continuing going to the gym more. Got a week off in October so focusing on that for my next goal and try to get a few days away.

Not updated in a while. Day 46 today and going strong. Watched the Ryder cup last weekend and fancied a flutter but resisted the temptation, not worth going back to 0 days. Got annual leave booked for next week, will try and get away for a few days. Money situation going well, on course to have my savings back to previous level by xmas.

Been a while since last posted. Currently at 94 days however last week was out with my friends and ended up at the casino after a few drinks. Played roulette and backjack and luckily ended up winning a few quid but the next day was really annoyed at myself for gambling. Just need to focus more to avoid temptation. Will try get to the end of the year without another slip up but I am feeling a lot better about life since stopping playing the FOTB.

Had a bad last few days. Went to the bookies after being bored and had a extra few pounds that were burning a hole in my pocket. Ended up wasting £800 then another £180 today at the casino. Feel totally gutted, didn't need to gamble and ruined my run of GF days. Starting again from tomorrow and will get to the end of the month then continue from there. Will just be able to cover this loss when I get paid next week but will have nothing to save.

wish me luck!

It's not luck that you need, though, is it? Luck's random.

More effective would be breaking the triangle, keeping it broken and getting support via counselling and GA. Actions by you to change things for you. If that's what you want to do.

You've proved to yourself that you can become out of control with gambling. But the truth is you need to take control.

Honestly, you won't believe what this addiction can do to you. I gambled away 10k in 10 months easily, simply coz the access to money was there. In other words we all gamble within our restraints and financial boundaries. I read about a couple who won a million pounds on the lottery and had gambled it all away within a year. About £3K each day at the casino.

Take control of your life. Focus on a positive resourceful future. You can make the change.

Thanks for advice guys.

Been better recently and managed to void gambling over xmas period. Looking forward to January so I can try and stay gamble free for a whole year.

My savings have been coming on well and managing to put a good chunk away every month, on track to move out next year!

2017 will be the year for me!

Good start to the year so far. 9 days Gf and feeling happier. Have a few aims set this year to keep me focused, looking to lose some weight, get a new job and buy my 1st house. Had an interview last week for a promotion and will hear back this week so fingers crossed.

Stay focused folks !!!

Same old story, done it again. Really need to get a grip and stop this horrible habit. Popped out for a bit and thought why not give it a few spins, done well this month and had some extra cash. Big mistake ! About £800 lighter now, pretty much cancels out all the over time I did last month. Feel guilty 2017 was supposed to be a fresh start. Up for work at half 4 tomorrow and think to myself what's the point of working when you can throw away about 6 days pay. Need to add more shops to the self exclusion and going to arrange some counselling as I am starting to think I cannot do this alone. Can only win if I stop!

Current aim is to get to 15th of Feb as I have a holiday planned. Also have my car insurance due the month after so really can't afford another slip up.
