Congrats on the 5 months mate!!!

You should feel very proud of yourself, not only for the 5 months without gambling, but for the 5 months of help that you have given everyone on here including myself.

Well Done Jeff!!

Many congratulations mate on passing the 5 month mark , thats a fantastic achievement and one you should be very proud of.

As the many others have already mentioned you have not only managed your own recovery so well but you have also supported and helped so many other people (including myself) through some very difficult times.

Jeff, I was up earlier than usual this morning so took the opportunity of reading the first month of your diary. I think your comments pretty much sum up how most people's feelings that they experience when they decide it is their time to quit gambling.

You experienced mood swings and varying thoughts and your mind was like a rollercoaster but the one thing that stands out is your resolve to stop for good this time. You made a comment about making sure that 2010 would be a great year for your family. How is that wish going?

Reaching 5 months is a tremendous achievement my friend and one that you should be so proud of. Your story is an inspiration to countless others.

Looking forward to you reaching the half year mark already.

All the best

Hi Jeff

Well done on five months.

Every mile stone is worth a celebration because when we first stop, every day seems such a long way. Slowly the days turn into weeks and then into months. I remember whenI first stopped and someone in my group said they had been coming to G.A. for almost 10 years....I thought...o*g...do I have to do this for that long..do I "have" to come here for that long??? Now I am 3 months away from celebrating my third year....and yup..I still go...

I don't look at it as a challenge any longer, it is part of my life and part of who I am...

Be proud of every day you don't gamble. It takes enormous effort to stay stopped. Keep going 🙂

God Bless

Charly/Sabine

Hi Jeff,

Cheers for the post mate. I really appreciate the constant support you give me on here. I don't think i could do this on my own and the support you have given me since day one is invaluable.

I see you have a game of golf coming up at Arrowe Park. I used to play there most Saturdays with my dad when i was younger! Nice little course. Shortish par 72. Couple of nice little left to right dog leg par 4's to ease you in. My best knock around there was 72 but i fancy i might be able to beat that now! Look out for the squirrels!

You are right Jeff i enjoyed the Wigan win last night. I can't believe we lost twice to fatty's boys this season. They are hopeless! City are looking good for 4th i reckon.

Good to see you still going so strong Jeff. There is a big festival next week but i have no doubt you will sail through.

All the best mate.

Hope all is well with you as you have not posted on your diary for a while mate.

Do not know about you but I am missing Cheltenham already although I will not go into the bookies or bet on-line.
