Hi All

Thanks for the posts.

I was always going to keep posting and reading. It was just my own diary i was struggling with.there are so many great people on here i think i will stay around forever.I can see the great work so many of you are putting in just to help others.

I worked a saturday the other week.I work in construction and i used to go out on a friday get bladdered and then get up on saturday and work just till 12 but it was really hard with a hangover.I would then call into the bookies on the way home and put my bets on,lose that days pay and the rest of the weeks.

I still went out and got bladdered and it was still hard the next day lol,but i kept my money in my pocket so it was worth it.

By the way its 10 months for me tomorrow so once again thank you all for your help. All the best Jeff.

hi Jeff, well done on reaching the10 month mark, great achievement that is!!!,i'm also pleased that you are still going to post,i know your probably working longer hours during the summer, hopefully the work is reasonably close to home at the moment.A friend of mine is in the building trade and he's still getting work and he reckons things are picking up now.

Cheers for the post Jeff. I've just read Steve's post (Steve if you are reading you should be ashamed of yourself, that was a shocker!) Well done on 10 months, a top draw effort. Making the most of my last day of piece and quite. Tiger is having a mare in the World Golf Championships, he has really fallen from grace. Keep up the sterling work.

Hai Jeff

Good to see you still going strong! Am a fellow construction worker and use to follow same path, bladdered friday, suffer saturday shift and duly s**nk weeks wages saturday afternoon!!!! Going to keep same routine but without the s**nk*ng of wages and sure that the beer flows and tastes a lot better than ever before.

Superb to see you're gradual upbeatness in you're diarys/postings over the time since giving up the shxte and living life the way it should be....Strength and honour!!!

Good on ya bud

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your post yesterday on my diary. I feel like a bit of a kid with a new future if I can hold off gambling. There is so much to plan and do, and I can look forward to doing just that, thanks to you and others on this site. You have done so well to hold back all those urges you must have had during the last 10 months.

Well done, and keep on truckin’

Himmat

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your support. I find your thoughts supportive and helpful. Well done on your gambling free time a good acheivment.

By the way I totally relate to the getting bladdered on a friday night and then working on the sat and then gambling and gambling. The only difference with me is that i'd gamble while getting drunk as well. Many a time i'd be off to the bar and get sidetracked by the fruities.

I find over time am easing off on the old drinking. Hangovers getting less and less. All the best in recovery.. S.A

gambling is just a drug.

the worst thing about gambling is that there is a machine in the bookies called the dreaded

FOBTs, this FOBTs is really the C*****e of gambling.

keep away from the FOBTs. its dreadful.
