Hi All
Im up early today partly with a big hangover and partly to go to golf.
I over indulged on the coloured water yesterday due to City beating Chelsea.
Its strange because ive woken up this morning feeling that i have lost money ,because i know whilst i was gambling this was the game i would have had a big bet on City as they were a big price for a home team.I know realistically i havent lost a thing and i also know it would have all gone back, nevertheless it is strange that it feels like i have lost.
One thing is for sure,no matter what my mind tells me the truth is i have saved money every week for the last 51 weeks.Sometimes lots and sometimes not so much ,but i havent lost anything, and it feels good. Its the little things that feel good like now i take my 3 young daughters sweets home and for a couple of quid i see their faces light up.before i always called the bookies on the way home.Of course it takes more than a few quid to like up my missus face lol.But these days she has control of the money and she does a better job than i ever did.
Im off to golf soon.Im going to a course called Chirk in wales. Its a long course and its our club championship over 27 holes so it will be a long ,but enjoyable day.I have booked Monday off work because i had a plan for this weekend. It started with going the pub Friday and winning my darts match.which i did. Then going the pub saturday and watching City beat Chelsea, which they did and then going golf today and winning the club championship followed by .Yes youve got it back to the pub to celebrate lol.seriously win or lose today im just going to enjoy it anyway 2 out of 3 aint bad.I never got 2 out of 3 on the horses lol.Reading back on my post i noticed the word pub used a lot.Maybe i have another problem to address.Still one addiction at a time eh.All the best everyone for your gamblefree weekend.Jeff.
hi jeff

Hi Jeff,
Not far off a year now mate, what an achievement that will be. It maybe even worth celebrating with a beer or two!! Oops, sorry, shouldn't be encouraging you 😉
Great result for your boys yesterday. Don't even think about possible money won as you and I both know that any winnings would be swiftly lost again with much more on top. A testament to how far you have come is the way you can deal with the occassional urges now. Keep up the good work mate.
Stay Strong
Steve
Morning Jeff thanks for your message. We are starting to pay in order of priority house etc and its a good idea yes to keep somthing back. Hi Jeff....thanks for the post on my diary and a virtual high five with you're continued support on other diarys...
Love you're upbeat stile in tackling this and was class in how you descibed the delight in your daughters faces after treating them and after every week from 51 you've made progress.......... onwards buddy and possibly city for 4th...........
Hey Jeff.
I hope you won the golf championships mate. If you did then that will have been one heck of a weekend to go with City beating Chelsea.
City are looking strong mate although i wish they would up the entertainment factor! Letting Johnson off his leash would be a start. Certainties for top 4 in my book.
I can't believe it is nearly a year since you joined up here Jeff. If you remember i started not long after you and your support has been a real tonic to me since day one.
Keep it up mate.
Curly.
Just to put you back where you belong mate...ONE YEAR ago today you placed your last bet if ive read your diary correct...diaries like yours shouldnt be in the lower reaches of page 3 mate...youve helped hundreds along the line including myself...thank you my friend i owe you a lot and congratulations thus far and i will toast a wee drink to ye 😉
Hi jeff
Just dropped in to say huge congratulations to you on going "full circle"
Tomorrow will be a year since your first diary post, blimey m8 where has it gone?
You have done incredible to have reached this stage and i'm full of praise and admiration for what you have acheived in this time. You put the work in , you made your choice and you got on with your life, and you've shown many on here (me included) that this can be beaten..
On top of that as wp has just said you have helped out many 100's along the way, always there with support, help and advice.
The first reply i got on my diary was from you. I was then only 4 odd weeks behind you, now sadly i'm a year and 4 weeks behind..But in a years time i hope to re-read this post and be able to say...
"Yep i've done it too"
Well done once again m8, you are a smashing bloke and you deserve everything you have worked so hard for in this past year..
Takecare and once again "WELL DONE"
ps.. (i know its Tuesday your aniversary but i ain't gonna be around, and i didn't want to miss writing this post)
Hi All
Thanks wp and Londonbloke for posting on my diary. It was nice to see that you remembered my 1 year birthday ,anniversary or whatever else it may be.I thank you both and so many others on here for helping me through this year ,without you all i could not have got this far.I was telling a workmate ive been gamblefree for a year now.He asked me what was the final straw. The obvious answer would have been a big loss, but ive had plenty of them. The truth is there was no final straw. Many times id gambled and gambled all day eventually made up that i had lost all my money so i didnt have to carry on.How strange is that?Usually after that type of episode i would make the vow never to gamble again and sometimes i would go a few weeks at a time without gambling. There was no final straw i just got my biggest peice of luck ever and found this site. Thanks all Jeff.
Hi Jeff
one year eh? that soon went by! i remember saying we will do this together..i was 6 days in front of you if i remember rightly. Didnt go to plan on my part..but i take my hat off to you buddy....truely brilliant stuff!
I agree this site may have helped you along..but at the end of the day...its down to you and you only! you found the willpower from somewhere and just so pleased you stayed on track. this is a truely dreadful addiction..i am sure your gambling days are long gone for good...you know how it works..as someone on here once said to me..you have the knowledge! well done Jeff.

Hi Jeff.
Just popping in to congratulate you wholeheartedly on your first year gamble free. No stopping now mate!
You are a credit to yourself Jeff and your straightforward honest advice to myself and others has proved invaluable.
Top man!!
Hey Jeff,
I came on to thank you for posting on my diary, and what an auspicious time to do so. Well done on the one year gamble-free anniversary mate.
Not giving in to temptation is very hard, as I've found out myself, but the time gamble-free is so much better than the big downers, often during and always after gambling.
Thanks for your support, and best of luck for another good year!
Ryan
thanks for your support jeff mate...always appreciated 😉 successful diaries like yours should be up there on the 1st page and pasted there to let all the newbies know THIS CAN BE DONE 🙂
