Hi All
Just updating.
No thoughts of betting .No chance of playing golf this weekend or maybe for a while. It is nice for me to see lots of new names on this forum the last couple of weeks ,this means a few more people will have a much better christmas.Last christmas i had only been gamblfree for a few months but it really did make a difference.Small steps turn into massive strides as you become more confident.today is my birthday.Im just going for a few scoops and for a meal later with the missus.probably have a hangover tomorrow at work.Anyway i hope you all have a gamblefree day Stay strong Jeff.
Happy Birthday Jeff,.....have a good one!!!.
Seano.
Hi Jeff, happy birthday for yesterday. Although I do love the snow....it does scupper the golf! Having said that, it's not nice playing in sub zero temperatures. It's great to have you on these diaries, your input is always most welcome. Russ
Jeff we should of had a joint birthday party. Thanks for your post mate and I hope one day to get back on the golf course 🙂
Take care,
Smokey
Thanks for your post on my diary and sorry, but a belated, happy birthday.
Hi Jeff.
Thanks for the post mate and belated birthday wishes to you!
I remember so well this time last year when you were a few short months in to your recovery. I hope you feel proud as punch at all you have achieved thus far. Keep it up mate!
Things are not looking good for Everton i am afraid. A few more dodgy results and Moyes is going to be under some serious pressure. The man has done a brilliant job but i think we are reaching the stage where a change might be the best for both him and us.
As for City i must say that i think they are looking nailed on for top 4 which is progress. I wouldn't rule them out for the title as the league is the most wide open i have seen it. Looks like Adebayor is angling for a January move but then his titty lip will be no loss!
Shame that golf is off the menu for the forseeable future. I'd love to treat you to a knock somewhere someday pal.
Take it easy big guy.
Hi Jeff
Thank you so much for your post. Sometimes it's just good to have somewhere to write things down. Once done I can often get strength from the written word and a new perspective.
It also helps to get the view of others, because often emotions cloud rational thinking and since I have stopped gambling I seem to be all emotion.
Glad to see you are doing well.
God Bless
Sabine xx
Hi Jeff,
... and thanks for your support over the months. Like you say on Lb's diary.. affter 30 years gambling.. you really had had enough. The strength and resolve and determination in your recovery is clear for all to see. keep going am sure you will. Regards.. S.A
You really hit the nail on the head in LB's diary. Like you, I spent 30 years throwing money away with no return. We both have months of an unblemished record and it will take 30 years before we can be fully recovered.
But the next 30 years WILL be fab!
Getting There
Jeff, as always thanks for your encouraging support. ..you've been by my side since day one and for that I'm forever grateful :-)....I know you don't post as often these days but from recent previous posts your still highly respected on these diaries. ..thanks again my friend, we can do this 🙂
Hi All
Yesterday i travelled to work only to go back home again .Iwas up at 5 oclock and back home for 9-30 ,which is half of a day to most anyway. This morning i had to get up at 5 and wait for a phone call about the conditions at work (i work on a building site),anyway it was another day off for me.Ive only ever had 1 day off for illness in the last 6 years ,and never been off through the weather ,so both yesterday and today are strange for me.I have had no time really to think of anything to keep me busy.I would normally spent this time in the bookies i guess.
Them days are gone.
So throughout today i will be catching up on the diaries. Its good to see people trying to stop before christmas, and its good to see people still posting from last christmas .i suppose lots of racing will be off today ,but with new technology all designed to keep us betting there will be meetings surviving along with numerous betting chances available.
Not for me and not for you.
Stay strong Jeff.
great post jeff....you work hard for your money mate,it must be freezing this time of year...difference is we are a lot wiser nowadays, not throwing away our hard earned...keep up your ongoing support my friend,we can do this 🙂
Hi m8t..Just thought id say hello to my very supportive friend fromthe earlier dayzz!
*Easy life*
Hi Jeff,
Just thought i'd drop you a quick post mate. Thanks for posting while I was on my little hiatus. I feel for you in these conditions mate, must be bloody freezing!! Anyway, City are looking decent at the moment, you must be hoping of a decent run to maybe take you to the title?? I managed a 98 whilst I was away, so 90 is the the challenge for next year.
Stay Strong
Steve
