Evening Winner,

Glad to see you're still on the winning trail by not staking anything on a bet. That Clement Freud quote is absolutely right. The crazy thing is that there must be some switch that isn't triggering so that we keep going even when we know we're betting money we can't afford to lose.

I pray that never again will I be on that losing streak.

Ryan

Hi abstainers

I've cash on hip, and that's where it's staying...fridays are a notoriously bad day for me but today I've no intention of giving a single penny or second to that gambling nonsense......so it's another day 'onwards and upwards ' ...and I hope it's the same for everyone..... have a great gamble free evening...Ginger.

Hello mate,

Thanks for the post.

Been paid too mate and all good here as well.

Yeah, that is a very young Ade, circa August 1978. Just after Ardiles and Villa signed for Spurs following Argentina's World Cup win.

Hoping it will bring the boys luck on Sunday!!

Keep strong

Hi Abstainers

todays day 99 just one day away from the 100 club, In the past I've tried and failed several times to conquer my gambling addiction, once doing over a year.....the difference between then and now was, I was aiming for a year then and when I reached that year (after wishing my days away like some sort of sentence) I felt I'd achieved what I'd set out to do and just a few days later I started to gamble again and within hours I'd given gambling back everything I'd starved it of in that year....my money..my time..my peace of mind..a restful nights sleep..my appetite for food and life.

now when i reach a milestone ( like tomorrow) i move on to the next one, the realisation that there's no finish line to this journey along with the help and support of this fantastic place is the key to my success and wellbeing....and I thank you all.

I wish everyone another gamble free day and another didgit to your totol.....like Suzanne says " gambling hates it when you starve it" ......onwards and upwards....Ginger.

Hi Ginge,

Thanks for your reply.

I too feel contentment at the moment, but I don't really feel like gambling. I don't 'feel lucky' in that respect myself. But I can see why you would feel like that, after a similar period of abstinence.. it just shows how this addiction can effect people in different ways during the recovery process.....

Keep strong mate. No complacency at all from either of us on this one!!

I know only too well the dreaded urge can hit when you least expect it......last Saturday for instance..... ;0(...... now that was a close shave....

Keep strong and keep positive...

Ade

Ginger.

Fella I am a few minutes early but take great pleasure and emmense pride in welcoming you back to the 100 club.

100 consecutive days of winning, without staking a single penny! !!!

I believe for all recovering compulsive gambler's there comes a time when continued days abstinence become more valuable than the act of gambling, for you my friend this is your time.

Enjoy it, as you state build upon the success. Day 101 will be just as sweet.

The doors of recovery revolve, fella you learnt a great deal each time you walked through them, each time one things for sure, thatdoor slams shut sstraight in addictions face.

I can see it now, battered and bruised.

The best thing is each day you smash it shut again.

Enjoy it.

I salute you.

Abstain and maintain

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Morning Ginge & welcome to club 100 🙂

I would have loved to have been the 1st to welcome you (I even had my alarm set) but I was 'dun' by 2 worthy soldiers in arms 🙂

Such a lovely post on my diary, it nearly dragged me straight back with my tails between my legs :-0 I am 'humbled' that you would thank me so kindly but we all know only too well, you cannot beat this on support alone so I hope you are as proud of you as we are 🙂 Forever can sound a long time but I can never get enough of 'winning' & now I have discovered I get to win something everyday, HD 🙂 Keep winning ODAAT.

it sure turned out nice again 🙂 - Juuuuuune
