Hello people

I'm 23 and already at such a young age i'm at the point where life has become extremely miserable because of gambling. What started off as a something for enjoyment at the weekends (football bets) it spiralled out of control. From staking anything between 100 - 1000 at a time it has crippled me financially and i can't see a light at the end of the tunnel anytime soon. Suicide plays on my mind every night, and this is not the person i once was. I had won a few bets around the region of 2000 which gave me a rush i had never felt before. The excitement of that winning goal being scored to win me all this money seemed too easy. How wrong was i. It is time to seek the help and turn my life around after finding myself 3000 in the red at such a young age. I hope i find a way before it is too late. I can beat this disease, thank you for taking the time to read folks.

Hi Dm. youve taken the first step, your here where you can get support. Stay strong, you can do this. keep posting and others will reply with words of encouragement and advice. take each day one at a time and the urges will hopefully begin to fade. I wish you well x

Hi DM, even though it may not feel like it now you WILL start to feel better. Unfortunately there is no quick fix as I myself have had to learn to accept, but with each day or even hour things can and do feel better...giving it the time and riding out those horrible feeling is hard but it can be done.

I have done it before only to slip again but I am back on the recovery road and determined as ever.

The debt you mention will eventually be paid off and as was said to me yesterday, you'll be surprised at how quick the time will pass and the money will be replenished but you have to give it the time.

With ye all the way and wishing you all the best x
