Recovery and hope last bet 22/10/06

I didn't realise I haven't been on here for so long. First thing first still gamble free, just celebrated my 10th gamble free year in October at a GA meeting in Newmarket. I owe my life to my mentor who guided me on my 12 step journey and showed me that my choices had led me to where I ended up. I have had the great joy of doing the same with others who wanted to find out about the 12 step programme and share their journey also. Dont give up there is a life away from gambling 🙂

Thank you for popping by I will have a read of your diary tomorrow. Congratulations on 10 years an amazing achievement. I'm attending my first steps meeting on Saturday and this is a timely inspiration as I have been questioning if attend. Alarm set for Saturday morning.

Well done, makes me feel very positive reading your diary.

My mentor told me the steps would set me free and they have, no more washing machine head,improved honesty empathy and desire to help others and given me the tools to do so. Life doesnt always go my way and can still make bad choices but dont have to gamble to live with them, few and far between now and it is a life better than I could have ever imagined. Money is in its proper place and happy with my lot. The dreams I used to have are no longer are part of my life and I'm happy.

Its been a long time since I've been on here, the good news I'm still gamble free.life's ups and downs are negotiated on a daily basis. Never did I think this was possible when I started my journey. Keep the faith, if you relapse,try again. Remember Robert the Bruce famous spider inspiration. You can do this. Take care!

Thank you for sharing Paddy and returning with an update, 10 years is truly inspiring. 

As a side note, I have also removed Paddy from our censure, so that it no longer looks like people are swearing when they write your name. (Sorry Chris)
