Right choices made today, treated people with respect including myself

Lots of friction going on at the minute but I have vowed to remain calm, while not rolling over and letting people take their bit

Hi Blues,

I remember you and I have had our lapses since we've been here, but the important thing is that you and I are both starting 2014 in the right way. Well done on getting the first month gamble free out of the way.

One question you posed earlier in the blog was dealing with relatives. Since I admitted to my family, its not really been discussed that often. There was one point where my mother asked me if I was gambling again. At the time I wasn't gambling and hadn't done for several months, but I guess I must've been doing something out of character that led her to make that assumption. Dealing with the questions can be hard, but ultimately they are being asked because they care for you. As Duncs and SA mentioned, be honest but there's no need to go into great details.

All the best for 2014 mate, hope it steps up from the past few years.

Ryan

Thanks for checking in Gazza and Leedso, means a lot to me. Its horrible that so many long timers are still here, but I guess its better than being out there in 'action'!

My addiction certainly moved on a level in 2013 and I needed to address it hence the one on one counseling - very expensive but working at the minute and a drop in the ocean to what I used to lose!

Hi Blues... great to see you back on the non-gambling path. Sounds like the counselling is a good investment in yourself for a better future.

Like you say (and as a long timer myself) it is better to be here than out there gambling.

Keep up the good work my friend. Regards... S.A 🙂

Havent checked in for a long time, and hand on heart, haven't really thought of this website. Had some gambling thoughts but the counseling continues and I would highly recommend it, but only if you find a good addiction counselor. Ive been to counselors before who pat me on the back and say poor you, which is not what I need.

Hey mate,

Well done on passing the two month gamble free marker, one of many to come on your journey I hope. Recovery is unique for all of us, and it sounds like the counselling is the right choice for you.

All the best mate,

Ryan

Hi folks,

Just checking in on what has traditionally been a week from hell for me, we all know what I am talking about and I may need to post/read a little more often this week more than others. Things are still going well from an abstinence perspective, and I can see and am reaping the benefits, not only financially but more important to me, personally. Im happier, content, more drive in me to achieve etc.

Anyway, stay safe today and remember one day at a time

Take Care

Blues
