Hello Mate,

When you said 'WIRED Ade'....i thought you were referring to my sternum! (see Gingernut1's diary for video nasty!!) Then I realised that you were actually answering my question about the bands name!! ;0) I can be such a plonker at times!!

Good to hear you are feeling calmer.....let the double figures roll......keep strong and keep adding each day at a time mate.

All the best, and well done on reaching Day 10......

Ade

Made it safely through the weekend and into double figures, nuff pleased

Need to put in a good week's work this week and get on top of the work situation so that I am not under pressure too much that it makes me feel like I need an escape

So I can keep the good work going and abstain from Mr G

Just another quick note to say I am finding it a little harder to post on the forum this time around than previously

Having fallen into relapse so many times before, I almost feel like a bit of a fraud in offering other people advice, the same advice that I failed to follow myself in the past

Just a thought

Weldy

Hi Weldy,

Thanks for your post on my diary, and glad you enjoyed a snippet of my past life!

I know it can be hard to post at times, but I think it will strengthen your recovery if you do branch out to several diaries that you think you can connect with. You don't have to spread yourself too thin, but half a dozen close friends on here seems to suit me personally. That way I can follow their journeys in far more detail, than just posting/replying to all and sundry. This is just my own opinion and it works for me.

But personally, I don't see you as a fraud at all. I see you as a determined soul, who is battling to make his life better, and hopefully make enough changes to his behaviour to enable himself to add to those 10+ days of recovery.

You have experience of being on here before years ago. So why not use that experience.....both the good and bad to help and encourage people along their own recovery routes....

Focus on YOU first and foremost, then build those other relationships, just as we have built ours. And as we both did with 'Lying Eyes' many moons ago!!

Keep strong mate, make that wedding your focus. You want to be completely focused on that, without letting gambling enter your life in the build up to what we be one of the greatest days of your life.

All the best

Ade

Hi matey,

Just checking you've still got that inner strength and focus topped up to the 'full' mark on your recovery tank!

Keep strong and look forward to that wedding Weldy.

By all means use my material in your speech....there's no copywright laws regarding the Mayonaisse Jar tale as far as I know!!

Keep strong....and keep posting

Yes - two weeks since I last gambled - feeling a little less burdened than a couple of weeks ago and a whole lot calmer

Glad to here Weldy.

Keep it going my friend.....you know you can do it.....you'll get stronger everyday if you maintain that focus.

2 weeks is great.....One day at a time....you are doing this.....keep making that right choice.

Married life is going to be so much better without gambling distracting youand taking up all that time that you used to spend on it. Your clarity of thought will improve. No more negativity....will all add up to a much more happier focused Weldy!!

You're doing great mate......it's great to hear!!

Keep strong

Thanks for your post on my diary.

My recovery is going well thanks. Bought a misfit SHINE fitness & sleep monitor and clocked up over 13 miles walking on Thursday and Friday. So my lung capacity is improving steadily. Lots of deep breathing exercises, and physio for neck, shoulder and trunk.

Have a great weekend mate.

Be strong and maintain that focus Weldy. This is your time......YOU can do this!!

Keep strong

Just checking in... all good for the weekend with no gambling

I had booked tickets for Newbury to go racing and see Madness afterwards some months ago, so this was a little bit of a test. The other half & I went, after the racing had finished, so we had a good time watching MADNESS without me having to endure any "madness" before the concert! One Step Beyond..............!!!

Well done on navigating that hurdle matey. Rather you than me.

That's the kind of day out that shows you that you are gaining strength even more. I used to do similar events at Kempton park, as I worked a stones throw from the course. But for me the temptation was always too much. I guess in your case, you had bought the tickets way in advance and therefore had to go.

Glad to hear that Suggs and the boys are still up to scratch.....

Keep strong

All the best

Ade

Ps: Not sure why this posted 4 times?? Gremlins in the system...
