I like your 300!!!
Weldy
Thanks Weldy,
300 eh! Who would have thought it? Just one day at a time is enough for me......each day in isolation, it is getting easier.
How are you doing mate?
Still struggling to post? I hope you're still gaining strength and focusing on the present, and indeed your rosy future without gambling clouding your thoughts.
Keep strong, and keep posting. This diary is invaluable to you and your recovery.
All the best
Ade
I trust you are having a good week of recovery Weldy.
Drop by and give me an update when you get a chance.
All the best
Ade

Keep strong
Ade
Hey Ade,
Yes all good mate, been a busy week with a few gigs and rehearsals and trying to keep up with work which is really busy at the moment
How's things with you? are you still making progress with the walking? Hope you are feeling stronger with each day
Weldy
Hi Mate,
Good to hear you are keeping busy and still going strong. Have to keep a check on you from time to time you know!! lol
I'm doing good thanks. Averaging about 6 miles walking a day at the moment. Still have chest pain, where all the ligaments, nerve endings and bone is all healing back together. But the painkillers help numb that a bit. Other than that, just waiting for an appointment back at the hospital, when they will most probably say I can drive and cycle again...and possibly do some swimming. I wont be back to work til December anyway, so I may as well just enjoy the time off, and make the most of this weather!
Keep strong
All the best.....and well done on 25 days ;0)
Ade
Nearly 4 weeks since I gambled and the money pressures have eased a little. Finding that I have more time than before to get things done, but I still seem to be under pressure with work and was hoping that I might be able to get on top of it by now. Just need to keep plugging away at it, it has to ease at some point.
Thanks for the post on my diary Weldy.
That's it, just keep plugging away. Things will ease off a bit, and like you say you will have a bit more time on your hands to do some more constructive worthwhile stuff! Whatever that may be, is down to you!! lol ;0)
But just keep getting through each day, and gaining your strength.
Without sounding too cheesey.....I am immensely proud of you, that you are sticking with your recovery. Like you say, it's nearly 4 weeks. That is fantastic......keep it going mate.....
All the best
Ade
Thanks Ade, Yes I am quite proud of myself right now, as you know I have had many "false starts" and only a couple of good runs at abstaining in the past. I do appreciate your encouragement, as in the past it can be quite lonely, even on this forum when it's just yourself posting to yourself, so I am immensely grateful to receive your replies
Weldy
No problem at all mate.
It's my pleasure to help you along the way. As for "false starts", you may remember I have the T-shirt also!! ;0)
We both struggled back then. Now it's different, as we can string these days together....one at a time, and realise just how pointless all that repetative punting was. Keep moving away from that old habit Weldy, and I guarantee that you will gain strength and clarity of thought just as I have. The wobbles may come from time to time, and that is all part of the addiction trying to draw you back in. Don't be fooled, and you will so much better for beating those random urges when they chose to visit.
I'm rooting for you all the way, and I hope to be back driving in a few weeks, so may have to check out your band at some point!
Keep strong
All the best
Ade
I
Hey weldy,
Popping by with a big well done to you, (can't have you and Ade doing one to ones all the time :)))),
Great going on nearly one month keep going and keep posting.

Thank you both for your words of encouragement - 30 days tomorrow and doing ok
Even though I have had a week to forget with lots going wrong, I haven't had the urge or subjected myself to a relapse, which I am sure I would have in the past!
Onwards, a day at a time
Weldy
Well done on 30 days Weldy.
Enjoy the weekend..
All the best
Ade
Only thing to report is another gamble free weekend. Happy to say 32 days gambling free
Weldy
Well done weldy, over one month now under your belt.
Keep going.
