4 weeks this Sunday. Wow. After two weeks it was the same as anything, the urges dropped. I've done this before with things I've been addicted to, fizzy drinks and chocolate. Go cold turkey and then the urge drops after about 2/3 weeks. Ive attended 3 live sporting events without betting, the first one was hard but thats getting easier too! Really turned a corner I think
I nearly had my first major disappointment, NFL was back last night and I stayed up to watch it. when betting I lost but certain sports I made money on and certain sports I lost money on. NFL was one of the sports I consistently made money on and as soon as I knew I was going to watch it last night, the demons came back big and strong - I even downloaded a betting app, telling myself £20 per month will be fine.... THAT BEING SAID. I came on here, I read the f&f and also success stories, there was one chap who really inspired me, I deleted the app, watched the game and thought nothing further. It just goes to show me that while @ 12:29 yesterday I felt fine, no urges and thought I turned a corner, I am only one bet away from disaster as CW rightly said. The bet I was going to place actually won, but that would have only been a bad thing leading me down the path i have been trying to escape. Its scary, you lose, you feel ****. You win, you feel great and then you bet more and lose, repeat.
Im glad im out of that system and looking back on it. Somehow im doing this but it was a major shock and a major test of my mental strength. I hope you are all still bet free and thank god for this site , thank god for the hep and the advice here.
