Good day! I've been lifting weights, running and sauna/jacuzzi. Had a walk to the supermarket and got some essentials. Felt really good all day and not wanted to gamble. Fantastic! Back to work tomorrow so will be close to all the bookies in town. Walk to and from work... Take no money... No risk!

Well done denzil. The blocks are the way forward at the moment. You're going to turn that 7 days into a lifetime free. Keep going.

Thanks Being Present 🙂

I'm looking forward to a gamble free future. It'll be nice having money available if there's something I want or need!

Day 9! One more day and I'll hit my little target of 10 days... It's exciting!

I watched some Diamond League athletics this afternoon and it inspired me to go out for a run. I managed 5 miles and now I'm knackered!!! I've signed up to run a half marathon next month so hopefully it'll get easier the more training I do.

Back to work tonight after 3 days off. I'm going to be hobbling around after my running today! I'm sure it'll be fine as long as I keep moving 🙂

Day 10! I've hit my first target 🙂

Talked to a lad at work about my gambling problem last night and he was very understanding. He struggled with a drug addiction when he was younger so he knows what it's like trying to give something up. It was good to talk to someone.

I thought I'd be aching today but I'm not too bad at all so I'm going to head to the gym before work! Got to keep pushing!

Not sure what my next target should be? 25 days sounds good. Don't want to make it too far away... 25 seems achievable so lets go for that.

Den.

Day 11

Just on my lunch break at work. I was only meant to be on a 10-3 shift today but as someone's gone home sick I now get to stay until 8. Wehey! Extra money! Slightly less debt!!!

I'm surprising myself with how well I'm doing at not gambling. I haven't had a payday yet though so that will be difficult.

Right, must get back to work or I'll get shouted at!

I'm so bored! Wish I had more money so I could do something fun or interesting with my days off. First day off after payday I'm having a day out somewhere... Jump on a train and go somewhere random. I just feel like I'm going a bit mad with the same boring routine.

Hey Denzil ☺

Welcome to GC!

Yes, i hear you...same old boring routine huh..but why? It doesn't have to be. There are so many free activities you can do! Run/walk/meet a friend/ read a book or watch an interesting program.

If mind tells you you are bored and have no motivation, that's what you gonna get. Seriously, change that view a lil and i can assure you - free things are the best ones to the body & mind ☺

Well done on your journey so far, you're doing well. Keep making the right choice, life is far better without the stress what gambling brings into it. Keep up the belief!

All the best
One day at a time

S x

Thanks S.

You're right, there are plenty of things to keep yourself occupied. I'm just a bit fed up. Some friends suggested going to Newcastle this week and I can't do it because of my gambling. I want to be able to do things or go places without having to think or worry about money.

Day 14

Two weeks. I'm happy! Was working late today. Still two weeks until payday... I'll get a train to a GA meeting when I get money. Can't afford it now.

Goodnight people.
