Day 15

​Had a chat with a girl at work about my struggle. Her stepfather has an alcohol and gambling problem and she gets really angry and frustrated with him. He doesn't talk about it to her or her Mother so I think I've helped her to understand it a bit more. I said that I think they should try to encourage him to seek help but he'd need to want it himself.

​I'm still gamble free. M fortune have been sending me messages telling me they've sent me free bonuses and I have to log in in the next hour to collect them. They do it regularly, give you a pound here and there to try and reel you back in. I ignored it. Think I should change my number because I regularly receive offers from various online sites. I'd prefer to not get them at all.

​Off tomorrow so more running and lifting weights! Meeting my old boss for a cuppa as well. He knows all about my gambling so I'll fill him in on what's happening.

As Dan says, you need to refer to this, you can't just rock up. If you're thinking about getting help, why not ring the helpline? They can arrange free counselling in your area.

Hi denzil there's an app you might find useful called call blacklist it stops unwanted phone calls and you can also block text's
Might be good for blocking that unwanted attention

Not a great day today. A girl that I worked with at my last job (left there 2 months ago) was murdered yesterday. I only found out this morning. Really feeling angry and upset. You see these things happen on the news but don't expect it to happen to people you know. She had two young children as well, don't know what will happen with them. It's really upsetting.

Makes you think that money is nothing when sadness happens like that! All those time I loss and the lost on my mind makes me so down and depressed as I lost a grand earier this month and 1700 9 days before! We could be dead tomorrow so what's the value of money then! Sorry about your friend

Day 17.

​Not a lot to report except still gamble free. Off tomorrow and going for a run with a friend. He's better than me so I'll be working hard at it!

Hey Denzil, been catching up on your diary today...huge well done on day 17! Great achievement! I'm aiming for 10days gf... on my 8th today. Then like you I'll set another goal of 20days etc. Small steps and all that jazz eh? 😉 You should be proud of where you're at now. It is so hard when very little money left in the pocket or bank, but we just have to remind ourselves it's very unlikely we'll double that money, so better off not even trying to, as we all know how it'll end. Stay strong C x

Day 18

​Ran 10 miles with my friend and he pushed me all the way! Legs are very tired now! Think I'll be aching tomorrow :/

Day 19

​So yeah, my legs are killing! Been hobbling around all day at work! Finished now though 🙂

​Last night I dreamt that I was on the fobt's in the bookies. After a minute or so of playing I remembered that I shouldn't be gambling and got really annoyed with myself! It's hopefully not a sign of things to come!
