Sat 2 pints in and my friend hasn’t turned upÂ
15 days in gamble free and sat next to the fruit machine. This is a real test.  I don’t always come to the site every day but I’m hoping posting this will make me resist the urge.Â
What I do know is this community of people posting and replying is really what’s stopping me and encouraging me to continue to quit. Good luck everyone and stay strongÂ
Imagine how good you'll feel in the morning if you don't gamble tonight!!!
Be nice to see a reply in the morning to say you resisted.

Thanks Emma so far so good and your absolutely right !
It's not worth it. think about all your hard work going to waste. Think about LOSING. Think about how good you will feel tomorrow if you avoid temptation. Even if you win it wont be a good thing it might get you hooked again. Text your friend if they're not coming..go home! Save yourself.Â
Hi guys thanks for all the support.  I’m home and didn’t do it . I feel so proud of my self exactly like you and Emma said .  Thanks for all the supportÂ
this feeling right now is better than any winÂ
Massive achievement, on your own with temptation by your side. Absolutely loved seeing this message this morning....WELL DONE YOU. It can be beat and will be if you believe you want a better gamble free life.
Now crack today, i have every faith you can.
Â
Thanks so much the feeling is even better nowÂ
Enjoy that feeling and remember everyone on here will support you when the next urge comes.
Keep up that fight!!!!!
18 days in gambling free and I have really ramped the training up to nearly 5 times a week.  I never thought anything of it until I sat down a minute ago having just finished training .  Whether it’s the fact it’s keeping me busy or the science in the body who’s to know. What I think is it’s the weight that’s coming off makes me feel happier and bringing my overall mood better,  and taking away one more thing which would put me into a need to get away from reality. Maybe it’s not for everyone maybe it’s not for me who knows .
hope everyone is good and fighting the fightÂ
Well done Mike.
i agree with you the working out and getting fitter and healthier is a great thing,  it’s something I got back into when I stopped.
Part of me thinks there is a little of the addictive personality getting its fixed in terms of seeing results and wanting them to happen quicker but I am much happier with this than throwing away money!
Keep it up and good luck to you, Â well done on the 18 days!Â
Thanks for the reply fighter it means so much when a post gets a reply
i never thought about it like, but that’s a great call I can focus an addiction on the training now . I seen you are over 600 days that’s a massive achievement . Do you mind me asking if it’s been a struggle ?
Hi Mike, Â It has been a struggle but being honest it was my second time, Â first time less money and less to lose.
second time around I had a family and a lot more debt, my life has become so much better since giving up and after a period of time the day’s quickly build up.  I sometimes think about it but i signed up to GameStop and in all honesty I’m happier than I’ve been for a long time.
i have money,  I’m not always anxious and staring at my phone and I’m actually enjoying life.  I keep my guard up but I’m in a totally different place to where I was just over 2 years ago
all we Can do here is have each other’s backs and keep the accountability goingÂ
I really look up to people like you as my role models.  I can’t wait to hit 600 plus days.  Completely agree with the having the backs of people here. I must admit you mentioned the phone that was me 3 weeks ago following the Golf.  I find my self now with a lot more spare timeÂ
thanks for getting back to meÂ
Â
good luckÂ
A great couple of days have just happened. I was put under a test again yesterday. Since I stopped gambling 3 weeks ago I now find myself with cash in my pocket.  And the problem I have is it’s not traceable spare really.  I was earlier to a meeting and Parked up where there happen to be a bookies .  I noticed it and for the first time even though I had 80 pounds in my pocket I never had the urge to go in.  Also I believe home life is starting to get a little less stressed maybe it s the correlation to not having the losses. Â
stay strong guysÂ
I subscribed to this thread to see how you were getting on.
Seems like you're winning at life instead of losing with gambling, what an amazing feeling that must be.Â
You need to keep one jar and right down your feelings as you go along in a simple one word format, when you get an urge to gamble empty that jar and look at what you'll be throwing away.
Well done and keep up the fight!!!
