Hey Bear

Just curious to know how you are still gambling if you have handed over all finances to your partner? Are you being honest with her and others?

Hope you find the strength to distance yourself from the thing that is causing you so much pain.

Take care.

Hi Bear,

I have watched your progression this year and felt sick. You can see plainly you do not want to gamble but when it gets its hooks into you. It's nearly impossible to get free. You really have to hand over everything no options small get outs and pray this is your time. I was where you are a year ago life is not perfect but reading your diaries make me realise how lucky I am today.

Bear, I suppose it's only when the gambler decides to quit for good.

Good morning bear,

Stick to this recovery road and reap the benefits of it. Money and greed of it only bring war to the world. You deserve peace instead - look around you, can you see you already got it there? Take it my friend and hold it tight to your heart.

Stick to your diary, keep posting and venting out. You are not alone

The Bear

my dear friend if I could take away the pain I would,if I could wave a wand and you would no longer be caught up in the self made whirlwind of the sh##itty destruction that is the compulsion to gamble I would fella.

Truth is I can't,the only person who has the power to end the mindfook is you my friend.

The thing that has always struck me in the time that we have shared this journey is your honesty,it shines through the sh##it you self create and I believe is what your recovery can be built upon.

Truth is Bear most folk in your shoes would have disappeared from the forum long ago,but testament to you my friend you are still here, still fighting to make a prolonged choice that will see the end of your own destructive gambling.

For me you need to take the help on offer, don't be too proud to take it fella,f**k I wore your shoes for twenty years,I refused to listen,to take the great advice on offer,to admit that gambling had me licked.

What did I get for my commitment

Near financial ruin, very near loss of my family and most importantly loss of my mind,I stopped functioning as a human,I turned into a desperate, disillusioned empty shell who with honesty put the punt before everything else in my life.

When I came here bear I was a broken man,I would have done anything to fix the damage I let addiction bring to my life.

Recovery does gift exactly that fella

I simply hope you find it too.

It is there you just have to want it,my hope is you don't wage what I did before you find it.

One day at a time

Hi Bear

Day 1 is good because you are trying again

There is a saying if at first you don't succeed try and try again

Corny I know but it such a positive and hopeful saying

The choice is yours to make

I wish you the very best in making the right choice

Just take it one day at a time. When I was in rehab they asked me to write a life story. Basically my life as it is affected by gambling. It did help to rehash all the events in my life gambling had tainted. It took a week but basically got you over a few humps. Welcome back and hopefully this is your time.

The bear,

It is never too late to restore your life. Never give up giving up. Just stay close by, even at the start....trust me, it is so much easier to get out of the grip of this nasty disease knowing you are not on your own and have where to turn each time nasty thought crosses your mind. You can do it, keep believeing....anything is possible 🙂

Staybsafe
