God im a moaning minnie me.... Your so much more positive than me and and an inspiration. Im having a whinge cos i read a few posts i didnt really like and got a bit hacked off. Keep positive and good recent news on the little un. I like your goals too, workout some treats you think you would like for your GF milestones, and pay for them with your proceeds from the stuff you dont need.

Hi Buddy , well at least if you have him stabilised a bit thats a good thing mate and a start .

It must be so hard for you at the moment , dealing with him, your recovery and also the feelings that you need to achieve or do more with life . Being older than you I suppose I'm quite settled and happy where I'm at , I'm not complacent by any means and still want to do things in life but not as you want at your age , if that makes sense .

Sounds like your moving along the right way though mate and hopefully you'll find something that gives you satisfaction , you have to keep trying different stuff until something just works for you and you get to where you want to be !

I think the visit family more maybe a good start , easily done and a great reward , I've noticed how I spend more time talking to my kids and have a bigger interest in whats going on with them , I did before but not at the level it is now but there again I was never in the room before ?.

Take care buddy and look after yourself !!

Thanks Alan - yeah it's a tough time for me but need to keep moving forward.

Day 43

Just another week and I'm up to a half century. Would be a good milestone for me as I've probably only got there a couple of times before. Think my best total is the late 70s so I'm not so far off.
I feel like I'm correcting more of the issues that were going on in my head. I do feel more resolved to not gamble as I can see it as the only way I can lead a happy life. I can't co-exist with gambling. It doesn't work.
I see a lot of newbies come on here and I just want to shake them as they're making all the mistakes I did. It's impossible to tell a CG what to do though... they need to work it out themselves so typically another 6-12 months of terror will ensue.
Positives
- starting to develop some longer term focus
- ummed and arrhed about checking bank statement yesterday but did it and realised could probably pay off Xmas at next pay day
- snow has gone

Little boy could come home tonight as he'd put some weight back on over weekend. Big relief.

Brilliant news mate , I'm made up for you , also take it as positive that the stress of the last few days would have sent a lesser man running for the nearest gambling shelter ! Proud of you bud and you should be too !

Yeah no chance I'm ruining things for my family. No gambling. He's not out the woods. I don't want to go into specifics on a forum that is visible to all but he's complicated from a feeding perspective. It's what happens when you're so prem. But really happy to have him home and Mrs is made up.

Another weird goal I quite fancy that I stumbled upon on the drive home...

I might learn to play the harmonica!

I figured that's something a bit unusual plus got the bonus that it will drive the breadknife mad!

Good one , like it . I once had a go at a mouthorgan that I found on a bus , when I started playing it a woman came along and said " you can't do that it's our Monica's " ?

Oh Change, I'm not sure you meant to but you really made me smile then...I've not been called deep before 🙂 I've had a few weeks of revelations that I didn't put down @ the time so the last couple of days are a jumbled mess of some whys & how I'm moving forwards so yeah, I guess it's just as you describe but you don't need to waste time catching up on it!

Don't you worry too much about flagging posts as abusive either...Admin would save themselves a lot of work if there was an 'are you sure option'! Even my spindly fingers (no sausages on these old lady hands) have caught me out a few times!
