Its gotta be in pigs in blankets tho top of my list. I know i can have them with any roast dinner, but for some reason i dont... they get rolled out at xmas. I do like a nice prawns/smoked salmon starter also... oh and triffle, or pudding ... not much i dont like.

my eldest brother/partner and kids come up tomorrow and I will be doing a mock xmas dinner a week early for all of them, as they then go to her side for the actual day, and then me and dad, other bro do the actual day. i then get my own kids come boxing day after having dinns with their mum on the day... so lets get another xmas dinns in then.... Never tried bread sauce tho ... New goal try bread sauce this year.... Great read and i like all this positive looking forward and enjoying life stuff from all the recent contributors.

Just watched DIY SOS and i was welling up so badly. I defy anyone to watch that and not get emotional. A guy who was fit as a fiddle drops down with a stroke and ends up with locked in syndrome. Got a wife and 3 kids. Only rooms in the house he can fit in with the wheelchair are the living room and a downstairs room they put a hospital bed in. Can't go in the kitchen so had to eat on his own. Has to go to the toilet in the living room. Can't even leave the house as can't open the doors. They went in and changed that house so much it was unbelievable. The tradesmen and women who volunteer and give up their time really inspired me. I've got to do something like that when my son gets better and I get a moment. To think I'm down in the dumps really put things in perspective. I am blessed and I need to realise that quick.

Hi Change and good point , we sometimes get so wrapped up in our self inflicted problems , we forget about people who didn't do anything to be in a bad position .

A line from " Hotel california " say's " We are all just prisoner's here , of our own device " Ring any bell's and another that reminds me of the forum is " You can checkout any time you like but you can never leave ", as you can tell , one of my fav's !

Day 12

Thanks for all your post over the last few days. Really means a lot as I like to chat and have some dialogue.

Positives

- found a first goal for 2016 which will involve me doing some volunteering

- faced looking at my bank accounts last night and it wasn't as painful as i thought it would be - it's not great but it's unquestionable better than when I started this journey in February

- realised a change of radio station from talksport to bbc radio 2 ain't ao bad

Let's have another positive day!

Boss is being a grumpy a*s again but trying to not let it bother me. Only a few hours left in today. Still not been checking sports pages but saw Jose got the chop as that was mainstream news... just hope he doesn't go to United.

What a great night im having! I've totally sacked off sport this time round. No football no darts no nothing. I watched the first dates special on sky +... hilarious. Me and mrs laughing. Then TFI which was awesome with zig and zag. Now gogglebox! Laughs and a few Guinness. Quality. Feels great.

Decent mood day. Feel better and back on track.

Positives

- United got beat again... and by Norwich... and at home! That's just too good for words!

- went out for tea with parents, really nice chat and no distraction of checking scores on phone

- spent £150 on booze! I just thought f it I'd burn 10x this on a bad gambling weekend so treat myself and family for Xmas... all types of wine and beer... few single malts... sherry... port... mulled wine...

- feel more human again

Haha... you can come round any day pal! Got some Talisker single malt which isn't cheap. And like Guinness which isn't cheap. Decent bottle of sherry and a bottle of port... oh and a bottle of baileys. Then lots of bottles of wine and lots of bottles of beer... Peroni as well which is bit expensive. I won't even be drinking that though I just really really like Guinness and later on I like the sherry / port / single malt with bit of ice... not all together in one glass. Mrs likes sloe gin. Got to start enjoying life a bit. And told you I want to have a good Christmas this year!
