Malc

It is a harsh realisation but the important part is you have realised! You stay gamble free, you smash into your debts rather than add to them. There is only one way from there and that is financial security eventually.

Keep going mate

Honestly well done Malc . It's horrible I know and your mind will wander as to 'ifs' and 'could of's' but realistically you spent that money on doing the best thing possible with it - giving yourself a chance - another go - I couldn't think of a better way to spend it than that . I know you won't blow that opportunity. 50 days coming up - you can do it

Hi Malkie,

Thanks for your comments on my diary yesterday.

Just had a read through yours and there's a lot of similarities..... the debt, the remortgaging, the realisation at what gambling has done, and the big one for me, the thought "can this really be it surely there has to be more to it".

I am really struggling with that part of it just now. Life seems very quiet and I guess that's all good, but I'll need to be getting myself busy with other stuff and finding new hobbies cos the boredom to me can be the biggest trigger.

Could be worse mate... could be going to Fir Park tomorrow to watch your c**P team playing in the fizzy pop cup final.... oh how my life has changed in the space of 4 years!

Hi Malkie.

Firstly, a huge well done on almost your fifty day mark. I agree with what Matt wrote. It does sound quite daunting but one thing is for sure, whilst you are abstaining, you are most definitely not increasing your debt.

Take care and be kind to yourself on your 50th day milestone.

Our Lady.

Nice one Arab,

Aye need to get some new hobbies, to be honest even with new hobbies I would still be bored, even if I took up base jumping or sky diving I would still be bored - I think I have come to it this is part of life. Anyway the joys need to get on with it.

Aye 50 days tomorrow woop, even if I wanted to gamble and I don't I couldn't as I am self excluded from everywhere and online does nae do it for me.

Weekend tomorrow only half a day left in this place hopefully the sun is shining for your football game tomorrow, Just can't bring myself to cheer on Utd, Aberdeen man born and bread.

Take care Stay Strong Stay G/f

Well done Malc ! Only 48 to go ha ha ! Stay strong your doing really well . It's a bit of a no mans land after 50 days and you're motivation can drop - maybe try and get to 75 first of all - it might seem less daunting , then 3 months ? Anyway it works for me . All the best

Malc,

Sounds like a great weekend and one where you fully appreciated what was around you. Amazing how gambling puts blinkers on you.

Keep going mate, nearly 2 whole months richer and wiser.

I won't gamble becasue I know the outcome but why do we think it what is missing in my life that I have to think it.

Anyway cup of coffee, go get the little man from nursery see what he has been up to go for a blast on our bike make tea ironing bed and do it all over again tomorrow.

Hi Malkie,

Thanks for the supportive post, greatly appreciated. I have been reading through your journey and congratulations on reaching the half century, that is a twelve year achievement day after day, keep taking it ODAAT and keep posting. I understand what you mean about trying to find a hobby but getting bored, it is tough to find something for active minds, even if it is great fun and thrilling I soon switch off.

Stay strong
