Hi folks. Thanks for replies, nice to know someone is listening. Yes i have been up and down since 2013, prior to that i liked a bet on all sorts but never thought of it as a problem as it was controlled, i started playing fobt machines more and more and sports bets less and less. Im sure most of you have been their in relation to fobt machines. Last november i blew about 450 quid and had 91 days off fobts then i went back on and in april lost about the same amount again. This is my longest stint away from FOBT machines. 136 days. since november last year i have played a handful of times in feb/mar and April and something just clicked with it. This is my best run and i want it to continue, i keep myself busy no problem just sometimes lately when im on my own i have that urged to pop down the bookies. I have never gambled online i have always been traditional with my gambling and in the past self excluded and give cards to others to look after so i am very pleased i am doing this with will power alone. I havent self excluded or given control of finances to others this time. I could i suppose i just feel like im not really putting the effort in that way.

Hi No problem

Yes has you quite rightly point out on my diary, the FOBT's are a menace to society. I have a friend who works in the bookies and says staff are nervous has there is a recently published report that says any stake over £2 is illegal, he is worried as most shops that he knows are only surviving because of the FOBT's, Fingers crossed!

I have stopped blaming the FOBT's as it's was my choice to play on them, now I am exercising my choice of not playing them!

Take care.

Shaun

Glad to hear things of going well for you and I do agree with sha999. Don’t play the blame game, it’s not the bookies fault we brought the lie. We made a mistake and we have learnt from it. I’ve never played an FOBT but I’ve lost thousands sports betting, most form of gambling if not all follow a similar pattern.

DAY 13. Well i havent been on here for a while and last year despite some blips was probably my best year in terms of how well i did. i had a 136 day and 91 day and 56 day abstinence plus a few other stints. I could call it my year of training. in decmeber i fell off and i thankfully won overall and my last bet was 29th of december. I dont want to blot 2018 with a gamble of any sort. I play in bookies on fobt's and never done online gambling thankfully. I do have a question for you though. When watching the ball spin and about to land do any of yuo get palpitations/skipped beats etc. I get worked up when playing with the excitement and thrill of it. So far 2018 is gamble free and i want to kep it that way as it doesnt matter if i was to win today because i would then lose tomorrow.
