Morning bounceback,
I'm glad you have taken something from my diary, just like your profile name says, you can bounce back from this, im a firm believer that if you put in as much effect as you did when you were gambling you will get there.
Well it's been 20 days since I have not gambled. It road has been an emotional rollercoaster.
My partner now has passed the stage of being angry and is open more to listening to me about my "addiction" or emotional illness.
I have surrendered my wages and all my bank cards to her and this has been easier than I expected, she has been spending on this and that, stuff for the kids etc, but with my miscalculations of our finances we have over spent which has left us a little short this month.
Although she never said it I could see inner face she was thinking I had used this extra money to gamble with as this is a little unexplained. I have tried to tell her this is just a miscalculation but again this is a now a trust issue and as I have lied for so long she has every right to.
I have been to a few GA meetings and would strongly recommend this to anyone serious about stopping, I have missed a few and well this sudden feeling of guilt is overwhelming.
Anyone reading this please stick in, it's not an easy "fix" and you will always have urges when your having a bad day, or when your stressed, bored. I'm happy to give out my number for anyone who feels like this , then text me. Talk to someone it's really that simply it's working for me and trust me I like any other male I hate talking about my feelings but it works.
Remember each day you don't gamble is a day closer you are to having that life you wanted.
Good to see your doing well and pleased that GA is working for you keep going the finances will start to improve over time.

AN ADDICT FELL IN A HOLE and couldn’t get out.
A businessman went by and the addict called out for help. The businessman threw him some money and told him to buy himself a ladder. But the addict could not buy a ladder in this hole he was in.
A doctor walked by. The addict said, “Help! I can’t get out!” The doctor gave him some drugs and said, “Take this. It will relieve the pain.” The addict said thanks, but when the pills ran out, he was still in the hole.
A well-known psychiatrist rode by and heard the addict’s cries for help. He stopped and asked, ” How did you get there? Were you born there? Did your parents put you there? Tell me about yourself, it will alleviate your sense of loneliness.” So the addict talked with him for an hour, then the psychiatrist had to leave, but he said he’d be back next week.
The addict thanked him, but he was still in the hole. A priest came by. The addict called for help. The priest gave him a Bible and said, “I’ll say a prayer for you.” He got down on his knees and prayed for the addict, then he left. The addict was very grateful, he read the Bible, but he was still stuck in the hole.
A recovering addict happened to be passing by. The addict cried out, “Hey, help me. I’m stuck in this hole!” Right away the recovering addict jumped down in the hole with him. The addict said, “What are you doing? Now we’re both stuck here!!” But the recovering addict said, “Calm down. It’s okay. I’ve been here before. I know how to get out.”
