Time to quit for good

Seeing the savings go up each day is big motivation. £540.00 saved so far, i spunked that in a couple of hours when i was at my worst.

Every now and then i do have an urge to ‘only’ deposit a tenner but i keep reminding myself that the big losses I had always started with ‘only’ a £10.00 deposit. A lot of the time I couldnt just accept losing £10/£20 and before i Knew it i would be chasing, just dont want to even put myself in that position now.

Im off to New York for the first time in June so thats extra motivation too to not give in, will have saved around £1500 by then.

Thanks, I have tried a couple of times before to quit but only lasted a week or so both times.

You have to put all the blocks in place you can, self excluding wasnt enough for me as there are hundreds of bookies you can join.

3/4 of the way to 100, it has been easier than I thought it would be but I wouldnt have been able to go this far without putting the blocks in place. This year is flying by and I really want to try and go a full year without a gamble, just over a 1/5 of the way there, 290 days to go.

Day 75: £562.50

Day 76 : £570.00

11 weeks since my last gamble, feels good to hardly have any urges on a Saturday now.

Day 77 : £577.50

Thanks for posting in my diary and congratulations on clocking up the 78 days - and it's great that £ figure keeps rising and rising. A scary reminder of just how much we'd lose if we gambled again day after day.

I just wish I put these blocks in place a few years earlier.

Im glad I have done now anyway, can actually save this £50 a week and put it to good use rather then throw it away.

20 days to go till I hit my first target, feeling good although have just remembered Champions League is back tonight gave me a little feeling of having a bet, not being able to bet online has helped me the most, not sure if willpower alone would have been enough for me to last this long.

Showed my girlfriend the £600 cash I have put away so far and joked once I get to 100 days I can start online again, should have seen her face lol.

Weeks are flying and the money saved is building quickly.

Was first time I have watched a Champions league football match in years without a bet last night.

Wasnt as tempted as I thought I would be though, just watched the Juve vs Tottenham match enjoying the game, just kept reminding myself how much better and stress free life is with no gambling
