Hello WAI. I hope you are happy, keeping well and enjoying a gamble free life.

Time passes us by so quickly, its a year ago today when I last posted in your diary.

I have stumbled a few times since than but keep trying and am presently 41 days without a bet. Life has its ups and downs but it is far better without gambling...stephen x

Thank you Stephen. I am pleased to see you continuing to lead by example to others, shining the way, sharing your honesty, wisdom and courage with others.

41 days you are doing amazing. I look forward to seeing these add up.

My life is a lot better nowadays. Me and my partner finally bought a house! Sometimes it still feels like a dream.

I have had one blip since I stopped and it’s knocked me for six. But since then I upped the blocks.

I also know I wouldn’t be where I am now without my blocks.

During my journey I realised that I was not strong enough without blocks in place. But through putting these in place I am helping myself.

Mentally as time goes on you do begin to feel better! Things become easier you can go for a coffee, afford to do activities with friends, have a mini break etc.

Life is for living and when gamble free I feel like the options are limitless.

The surprising thing is I feel stronger gamble free, but some days I still feel so sad, angry with myself. But I understand we learn from our mistakes and when we fall we have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and try again.

Best of luck everyone and please put blocks in place.

Hello WAI and thank you so much for the kind words you posted on my diary. I admire the way you have turned your life around and am impressed by your courage, wisdom and fortitude. You have shown what can be achieved through hard work when one is determined to overcome the urges to gamble. You really are a star and I am proud to think of you as a friend.

Sadly, I have relapsed on several occasions but do feel I have made progress. I was really foolish because I went 6 months gamble free when I joined gamcare. I had completed 12 sessions of counselling and my future looked rosy but than I threw it all away.

Anyway, that is now all water under the bridge and I am looking to the future...stephen x
