Day 131
Bit of a bummer the boiler has packed up, hopefully fixed next wednesday!!
my youngest is furious as she bathes daily and may have to ask to go to her grandma 's daily. She doesn't like grandma much!!! at least didn't may love her to bits now!!!!!!
Amazing that during gambling times I would have immersed myself in slots and wasting money I don't have. Instead just laid awake whittling but NO gambling. An achievement indeed.
On nights for 3 days now so maybe won't be on for a few days.
Onwards and upwards

139 days and going strong. Now back in the land of the living for the weekend.
Boiler now broken and HAVE to get a new one as part needed is obsolete so for a change my very first thought was I need to do more overtime and NOT I must gamble. Every day I abstain makes me feel stronger even when life throws S**T in my face.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and stay safe. Onwards and upwards

Hey Cheryl,

Sorry to hear about the boiler problems but you are sooo right - gambling won't solve it! Keep staying strong and be kind to you...besides, it's getting warmer outside so can have a wash in the lake or something lol..kidding, hope new replacement will get sorted quickly.

Keep up the good work and keep being kind to yourself! You're doing absolutely fantastic!!! Proud of ya gal...hugs

Have done some calculations and could get the new boiler in a year lol.
What is ridiculous is I could spend the amount a boiler costs plus installation in 2 months on gambling but the new me has pots set aside for various bills and can afford to save £450 a month if I am frugal and even afford a new bra..... HB's!!
Have bought a new electric shower and once fixed we won't need to boil 7 saucepans for a 2 inch bath lol.
I don't feel stressed by this and as I read in ODAAT 's diary she felt " normal " maybe that's me know and hid all my worries in an online slot instead of facing it and accepting what I can sort and what will take longer.
Maybe I have finally grown up, although I hope not totally as like a bit of immaturity now and again in the right place.
Am even having a night out with the girls next Friday all of us who knew my best mate who passed away as it is 6 months since it happened.
I have learnt a lot from that experience and amazingly that too has made me feel stronger.
Life is for living not sitting up all night pressing buttons to win naff all and lose more than all your money.
I actually enjoy each day now, could be the meds, but I don't care it feels good
Take care

143 days, I have no need to be on the internet these days and family life has become very precious as I am working flat out to sort bills and save for a boiler. So don't check in so much at present. Have 1 day off in 7 so 67 hours worked this week and 72 hours next week. Yet still, due to not gambling, I have time to spend with my daughter and keep the house fairly clean lol.
I do feel much better generally when the sun shines so am loving this weather.
Keep strong

Great to read Cheryl, and 143 days, can understand you not being on the net much now as you life music has become busier and that surely is very very positive.

Proud of you for your achievements, enjoy your recovery, it surprises us every day.

I just wanted to say a thank you to you and your diary. I used to read the posts but was too scared to sign up and then one day, before my last major gambling stint, I read your whole diary. After that last gambling spree I thought enough is enough and you inspired me to be brave enough to admit my situation and sign up to start my own diary.

You should be so proud of how far you have come and although this will always be a part of who we are, being aware of it and actually controlling it is the ultimate achievement!

So thanks again for the inspiration, I hope to be where you are in the future 🙂
