You have to want to give up and that's why you need support if you find it to hard to go more than a few hours without a bet!

Hi there, not certain how you gamble, if it is online you need to get blocks on computer/phone. If it is betting shops you need to get yourself excluded. You need to stop access to cash/ cards. Order new debit card and scratch security code off back without looking at it. I know if I am feeling tempted, I cannot take debit cards or cash out of the house. Get to GA, I am tempted to think you get out what you put into it. Don't be put off about other people's comments about GA and counselling, it's success I think depends on you and your commitment to change. Compulsive gambling is an illness and nothing to be ashamed of, continuing to lie and not actively seeking to put things right...well in my books that can be a cause of shame.

Hey HerotoZero. Thanks for your comments on my diary - it was motivating to hear.

I see you struggled today. You are going to have to be hard on yourself. Self exclude, get blocking software, cut up your cards - it's drastic but it works - even just temporary. And don't think about it - just do it straight away.

I did the same last week - told myself I'd give up and then some money went into my account and I was back on the slots. Not anymore. I will never gamble again. Tell yourself this over and over.

Please stay on the forum and keep giving us updates, got all my fingers crossed for you mate
