Hi, ok so just a quick one. I just did an online shop with a supermarket, (Not going to name names as I don't know if it's allowed) But it's the one that sounds like a country (apparently mums go there.) Well basically after confirming my order I get a thank you page, but with a twist. Under the thank you it says "Join the fun" and shows a bingo site under the same name. Now I'm not too sure on the legalities of this, but to me it's absolutely disgusting to push gambling in that way. What are people's opinions on stuff like this? Surely I can't be the only one disgusted by this?
Sad thing is it doesn't really shock me any more. I expect the gambling industry to try and get into my every day life gifting opportunities and offers for gambling. Should they be able to? Of course not, but i'm sure they've legally covered themselves.

I find it depressing and the problem is that it has become accepted within society. An activity that is still seen as a sin and has been prohibited in the past, has become so deregulated.
These advertisements should actually shock and trouble any right thinking person. It is false advertising as that scenario is not really on offer or once in a blue moon. Can random probability heavily stacked against us be advertised as a golden opportunity? No in my opinion.
Somehow I walk past these things and filter them out for my own sanity. One example just shows a maximum win for a one play stake on machines.....No reality of the odds because the odds of doing that are one in thousands. It could be one in tens of thousands or one in a million but of course the advert doesnt say that .
If I put a ball under one of 100 cups I hope people would start to see the risk verses reward. I cant believe I ever played machines like the zombie I was. People dont understand the odds of a random number generator and even the return percentage plays on the illness of problem gamblers because it wont happen with thoughts of lady luck
It makes me worked up writing this because I know how easy it is to become addicted to machines.
The facts are that nobody likes losing money. Is bingo ever fun because I think it just creates gambling addicts and the halls are full of fruit machines now. It tends to get stereotyped as the soft edge of gambling but is it?
I would see Bingo as a dangerous temptation rather than social activity because I know what gambling does to people.
Best wishes to everyone on the forum
