You have to be very careful about opening up. Even to your loved ones. It can cause unnecessary stress and problems.
If you are wanting to stop and need to talk to someone then find someone you trust so you have someone to talk to. A lot of people think if they are completely open then it it will help them to stop but it isn't necessarily the case. I have done that and then started gambling again and it was not good having the pressure of telling everyone that I had started again. And that can cause a lot more problems and lies.

Personally I don't think telling everyone can necessarily be the best thing for everyone.

No, but a trusted person, one , is at least something, taking away the loneliness of this just by telling someone is massive, I don’t know what else he can do for me but he knows, I’m putting him in charge of my money very soon , I can’t do it just yet for reasons I’m not sharing but he will be in charge.i feel ashamed and feel like I’ve let my family down, I’m still lying to my most treasured person but I simply can’t come clean to her just yet.
