I gamstopped myself for 5 years back in 2019, it was over in may this year. I assumed it automatically expired as I was able to sign up to **Q. Fast forward to last night I blew two grand, everything I had. I went on to gamstop this morning to re instate it to see that it was still active because I didn’t know that I needed to ring to cancel it myself…my question is can I request a deposit refund due to them allowing me to gamble whilst being on self exclusion?Â
Dear Bex
Sounds like you are going through a challenging time. Â
Wonderful that you are registered with GamStop, would also suggest you register with GamBan and use the banking apps to suspend payments from your bank to gambling sites to give yourself layered protection. Â
If you contact the Helpline we can give you a link for a free GamBan licence. The Helpline can also give advice and support to help you stop gambling and remain gamble-free. Our Live Chat and Freephone 0808 8020 133 are both staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
You will need to get in touch directly with the gambling operator concerned about the deposit refund.
Wishing you well on your journey to becoming gamble-free.

What would you use refunded money for please?
Just to gamble on other website or at bookies

My advice would be forget about the money and refund and do steps to become gambling free.
Refunded money from gambling side would only make you gamble more.Been there myself many many times before.
Affected by gambling?
Looking for support?
