Hi all,

I recently started gambling again after only 3 months totally clean. However, I haven’t gambled myself into financial ruin (like I have over the past 3 days) for a number of years.
thankfully my gambling in the past means I can’t lose much!

anyhow….. has anyone else gambled on non-gamstop sites? Is there any way to shut these guys down? They are so much more dangerous than the mainstream uk sites

I feel stupid now I’ve relapsed so spectacularly. Does anyone know how to permanently avoid these companies?

Dear Mattyt88,

Thank you for your post and we are sorry to hear about your relapse.

We always recommend to install Gamban as well as joining Gamstop:

Gamban blocks you from opening gambling sites and you can install it free on up to 15 devices from the link below.

www.gamban.com/gamcare

Please remember that our HelpLine on 0808 8020 133 and our 1:1 Livechat are both open 24 hours every day if you need support.

All the best in your recovery,

Juan

Unfortunately these sites, along with advertising etc will always be there. What is important is we take responsibility for our own thoughts and actions. Its a bit like an alcoholic wanting to shut down pubs. Stay strong and I wish you the best in your recovery journey

I dabbled a few years ago on these sites , they certainly will never pay you out . These are the places we go when we are desperate spend aload of money and then stress when they dont payout , i must of been crazy. Luckily i have not gambled for 6 months.

Welcome Mattyt88

If you have been searching any aite out your blocks are not in place to act on it

Somebody close should be monitoring you and your money

your post is full of the confusion we all felt at one time

Contiued gambling will clear all the money  have available and will cause damage

you avoid them by healing and not having access to the time money location or computer

those sites blatantly use the fact they are legal.... they dont care about you... they want your money as fast as possible.... obviously as you know.... its your addiction to the drug of gambling that craves you

Tell trusted people close what you have done.

its not a money scheme... its a vice and a mugs game.... when you get stronger on that you wont seek the out as you rattle a bit and recover with help

treat this as coming off a drug addiction and its clearer what needs to be done

Best wishes
