Hi, Admin,

I appreciate that certain brand names and swear words should not appear on the forum but some innocuous words in our posts are being starred out for no apparent reason, to the extent that one of the f&f posts is unintelligible.

Examples of innocuous words include the digits on our hands (fin gers); the Consulate (embas-sy); an important document required for international travel (pas-sport); an emotion which causes blushing (embarras-sing) in fact, any word which happens to include the letters A Double S in sequence.

Hope I'm not proposing to spoil the crossword aspect but is this a glitch that your IT support could improve?

Kind regards,

CW

Hi CW,

Apologies - yes our web support is looking into this so the system doesnt block out words that are part of other words, if that makes sense. Hopefully we will sort this out soon.

Many thanks

Rebecca

I second that CW , just said the same thing to Phil in an earlier post and he couldn't understand why Gla.ss had been censored from my post ?

On this note does the poo word beginning with sh and ending with it really need censoring?

Admin, what on earth is happening to the site...

Whilst I accept that not everyone wants to hear my potty mouth, in the last couple of days there had been an increase in the number of words being asterisked including w-i-n in my we cannot win because we cannot stop line! I'm sure s-t-u-f-f was also edited and LB couldn't use l-i-e. Other words I can only hazard a guess @!

Is this type of censorship really necessary on a site for people with a gambling addiction? Any child coming here by mistake is hardly going to spend time surfing the pages & being tainted by this type of word!

P.s: From the challenge thread it also appears the word m-o-n-e-y is being bleeped?!?

I'm thinking of typing all my post's in mandarin. They will at least make sense.
You seem to be taking away word's that are basic English.
And leaving us with something the enigma team would struggle to c-r-@-c-k

Hi, Admin,

Echo posts above, members' finances are an issue on this forum but any reference to (er.... not c a s h .... not m o n e y ... let's try a different word...) currency are being starred out.

A bit less zeal, please?

Regards,

CW

I've noticed it seems to be 3 letter words (l-i-e and w-i-n) and c-a-s-h is no longer allowed. Think we might need to start using the nato phonetic alphabet as anything ending in kilo gets starred out too. Have you had a system upgrade recently? I think there must be a bug in. I really don't believe that you're doing this intentionally
