It can take a few days depending on how busy they are but I generally just tell them the user name that I want to switch with & they send me back a generic lecture about keeping safe/are you sure. If the other person has emailed in @ the same time, it may be faster. I'm not sure if they would send your number as I've only ever done it with email addresses 1st.
