What about a chatroom session on a Saturday early afternoon for anyone worried/tempted etc. or just wants to talk as it is such a big day for various sports? Just an idea. Phil
I gave asked the question before Phil and they have tried it in the past and it was poorly attended. Maybe the demand has changed and it could no be required do well wierh bringing up.
I think you've raised a great point SamePhil, Oldham, and, just to add, I would consider the timing to be 12-1pm or similar. In other words just as the early football game starts and prior to the main afternoon sporting program. I suspect that even if demand is deemed low - and I've been on evening webchats with only 4 or 5 in attendance - it will be well worth it.
Because those that do join us may well need extra resolve that day to ensure that, when at our weakest (a 'free' day with cash in our pockets) we remain true to our daily pledge - "today, we're not going to gamble".
I wonder if Gamcare top brass will consider a 'trial period' to see if it works...?
Hi Mixer. I think a trial period would be a great idea - especially for newbies which I still consider myself one.
Hello SamePhil and all,
I'll bring your suggestion to the attention of management so they can consider it.
Thanks for sharing the idea.

"Top Brass"! Love it!
Hi Phil
We are looking into this - it could be worth another trial period to see if the demand has increased. We will get back to you about it as we need to balance the helpline demand on a saturday and make sure we have enough staff to cover the service.
Thanks
Rebecca
Ok. Thanks.
A message to Gamcare... THANK YOU for opening a Saturday afternoon webchat from next week! Thank you for listening and considering our suggestions and I sincerely think it's going to help an awful lot of us.
Very impressed!
I'm really pleased as well but what's the chances of it being a bit earlier? Maybe 12.30-1.30 or something like that? I'm only suggesting this as this will be before a lot of the sports such as horse racing start or have just started and maybe having the chat a bit earlier will help people who are struggling that day? Just a thought.
Sorry Phil, for staffing reasons on the helpline we can't have it any earlier at present. Let's see how we go and we can review if needed.
Thanks
Rebecca
