I know theres a self exclusion system in place in England.

I am just wondering if there is a similar system for bookies in Ireland? If there isnt what do you think is the best way to self exclude from them.

Hello Stephen2105,

Thank you for your question. I'm not aware of a multi-operator self-exclusion scheme in the republic, but please check this out with the Irish National Gambling Helpline 1800 753 753

http://www.gambleaware.ie/

You posted recently about having filled out a self-exclusion form at a local bookmakers, so that could be one way to proceed. As you know, most of our forum members would combine self-exclusion with additional measures like limiting access to money, rescheduling time with other activities and using some king of regular motivational or therapeutic support. It sounds like you are already in the process of putting these measures in place so well done to you.

Take care,

Forum Admin.
