Good morning Gamcare!

Firstly, congratulations on the new look site and especially the pretty seamless migration to it - really well done. While I think it'll take a bit of getting used to, it's great to see the site embracing technology and moving forward - I'm really liking some of the features already.

A couple of quick asks......

- there seems to be a number of erroneous posts overnight about home improvement, web hosting and the most bizarre one about tension in the office..........all of which clearly are nothing to do with recovery from gambling. I'm sure you guys will be all over this.

- secondly and most importantly for me, I run a 2014 Challenge on the overcoming problem gambling pages and have always used the very first page of it to note the weekly progress of the group I.e. who's checked in, new team members etc. I see now that I can edit posts that have been made on the new site but not those posted on the old.........I'm fearing the worst here, but is there any way I can edit that first post?

Look forward to a response and thanks for all the work you do,

mr brightside

Dear Mr Brightside

Many thanks for your kind comments about the new site. We are looking into the issue with spam, and expect to have a solution soon. In the meantime, please bear with us and we'll try and delete the posts as they come in.

In terms of your other question, we'll take a look and update you as soon as we can.

Best wishes

Hi,

I echo Mr Brightsides comments above really. Like the new look.

I am currently just hitting "Flag this as abusive" when I see the spam posts. On other forums (not gmabling related) I have been a member of we have just restricted access to post in certain areas until you have been a member for X days (I guess this isnt always possible for people that need help with gambling problems) as well as running keyword filters (the spam largely seemed to emanate from a kitchen supplier in Manchester bizarrely) to reduce the amount of spam hitting key areas of the forum.

One other request - can you add the breadcrumb navigation links to the bottom of the page as well as the top as standard ?, when reading diaries its nice to be able to head back to the "recovery diary" main page directly from the last entry you read, rather than scrolling up to the top of the page again before hitting the link there. (minor i know).

Best Regards,

FM

Hi FM

Thanks for reporting the spam, we are deleting it as soon as we see it, and we should have an anti spam guard in place quite soon.

Many thanks as well for the feedback on the breadcrumb navigation. We'll add this to new development ideas, which once the larger fixes are done we can take a look at.

Glad you like the new look

Hi, I am having a few issues with email subscriptions, basically I want them turned off for my account as I get constant emails when there has been a new post in a thread I have commented on. I even went into my account to Unsubscribe twice but I just seem to still get them. Don't want this to cause embarrassment if I access my emails at work and a gamcare email pops up.

For example I have just checked my account and I am now subscribed to this thread. It's a great idea don't get me wrong but we should be given the option to turn this setting on and off full stop. (And I know you can untick the box on new subscriptions) but this can be a hassle to do everytime.

Hi Rst

We have noted the issue you raise with regards to subscriptions - we will pass this on to our developers. In the meantime, as you say, you can opt out of receiving the emails by unchecking the box at the end of each thread, and can also delete the existing ones in the subscriptions tab of your profile page.

Apologies for any inconvenience in the meantime,

Best wishes

Hi Mark (Sonic Boom)

Thanks for your feedback. We've had a couple of people mentioning about the issue with pressing enter, so we'll pass that on. Also the issue about porttrait view is important - thanks for bringing that to our attention.

Best wishes

Just an update - we have now changed the setting so members are not automatically subscribed to threads and therefore wont get a lot of emails. If you wish to subscribe to a thread you can choose to do so, by clicking on the 'subscribe' linnk at the bottom of the post.
