This is my first day off machines, o*g aren't they just so addictive! It's the thrill of a win and the main issue is the bigger the stake the bigger the win. But then bigger the losses and they inevitably arrive. Its strange how the mind works, you think you are always going to win but greed gets the better of us and so we carry on. In the end the house gets it all. Worst thing is I enjoy it the thrill etc but I know its a waste of money but Im doing the moses thing tommorow and my partners helping me with limited access to cash so I can't go and throw it all away. Anyhow this day 1...
Hello jennyj,
Thank you for sharing this and welcome to our forum.
I think a lot of people will be able to relate to your description of the 'highs' and lows you experience with gambling.
It sounds like you’ve got great insight into how you’re drawn into gambling and what keeps you going, even when you experience losses. I encourage you to keep noticing and being curious about your thoughts and feelings around gambling as this will hopefully help provide a better sense of control.
Good to hear you’re putting measures in place to help yourself as well.
I hope you can keep posting on here and sharing how you get on.
All the best,
Claire
