Did anyone see brtain at the bookies last night , i mean how irresponsible can our natioanl broadcaster be ??
most people on it won and everyone was happy and could encourage the next crop of young gamblers , thought it was very poor choice of broadcasting
Spot on Sraggy, 3 one hour shows on gambling, no distressed crying punters appearing on the TV screens, disgraceful choice of programme scheduling, anyone who has/is been a gambler knows gambling is becoming a major issue in this country, otherwise for instance this site would not be here !!
it is very watchable prograame and the focus is on FOTB next week , but that had a guy that won £1000s on golf and darts then lost it which we can all identify with but rather than leaving like that they put a happy ending in that he won 2k right at the end and has a baby on the way so its not that bad is it *** its fun , its harmless , get yourself down c oral for a jolly and the horses happy go lucky couple winning more than loosing and a nice 20-1 shout in middle of it , even had the bookmakers who set the odds having a good win aswell , the happy everyone a winner world of gambling in 2015 , yh right !!! c oral must of paid the bbc for this !!!!!!!!!!!
I saw this...was sitting with my partner...cringing..thinking of only he knew!! I agree it should have showed the darker side.
I think it has shown that the bookies aren't really worried about problem gamblers, they'll take money off anyone.
Look at the guy in the first episode they knew he struggled and was on benefits, but the shop manager didn't care, all he was worried about was he might go elsewhere if he was told sorry but you are a problem gambler and we aren't taking your money.
So what if he did at least the manager would have tried,
Then what about the guy who was beating the bookies. Doing nothing illegal but the bookies didn't like him winning so restricted him or banned him.
Admittedly I haven't seen the second episode but going on the first it certainly hasn't shown the bookies as the good guys.
i agree Its putting a positive spin on gambling and all u c is adverts for gambling sites its far too easy to gamble nowadays and far too easy to deposit the cash too so promoting it is going to encourage a whole new generation of gamblers an extreme one at that.
I watched these shows. Remember, this is a show about bookies, not about gambling itself. It's just a watered down fly on the wall to keep people entertained.
Affected by gambling?
