Hi,

I've accidentally taken out 8 payday loans. I have a payment plan ready so should close them off in 2 months, but I never want to take out another payday loan in my life. Has anyone tried calling them up and asking them not to accept any more applications ? I get too many texts each week from loan companies, but I can't see how they can refuse if I ask them to block me.

Andy

Payday loans are the worst if you default.... constant calls and texts, even when its a small amount. Once you have one pay day loan you get targetted by all the others. Avoid at all costs if you can.

Thanks Merry go round. I can't seem to find the link though - which forum is it in ?

Yes, agreed S.A - feels like I've learnt an expensive lesson. I hate to think the amount i've paid in interest to these dodgy companies. It's made me embarassed to talk to family about it, because we used to watch the adverts, and find the levels of interest ridiculous, and only an idiot would sign up for them........anyway, never again. Am going to finally pay them all off in 2 months.

Hi Andy, definitely go onto debt camel, you may be able to claim a refund, as irresponsible lending, there is a template letter on there, also call your phone provider, a change of number is usually free, I think a number change every 3 yrs, also say you are receiving harassment calls, which is causing you concern, I did this and last year, I only get calls from friends and family, so peaceful, good luck

Blocking yourself from payday loans involves taking several proactive steps. First, remove your name from any payday loan marketing lists to avoid temptation. Next, set up a budget to manage your finances more effectively and build an emergency fund for unexpected expenses. Consider using credit counseling services for professional guidance on managing debt.
