Hi guys, had saved a lot over a few years and foolishly blew the lot back in May , deposited 200, lost it and then deposited another 300 , lost that and continued chasing and lost 6k. I have always gambled on football and horses but unfortunately got addicted to roulette. Saw a lad in shop bank over 1k and thought this looks easy. It's gotten me since and have been basically playing it over 5 years. Some weeks I can go without but I always return to it.

I have no debts but I find it difficult shaking off that loss. Since May I have continued to gamble every month and only have a few hundred until next pay day. I have not bet or played a game since last week as i don't won't to borrow any money until next pay day

Hi,

Do you want to deal with your addiction or do you want to deal with your losses?

If you gamble in the bookies (as i did) there are a few initial steps to consider such as self exclusion, carrying little or no cash, or if you can pass your finances over to someone for a while. Any block that can keep you away from the bookies.

For long term you can consider counselling via Gamcare or attending GA.

You are lucky not to have any debts at the mo but by not dealing with the issue the debt side of this will begin to add up.

Get back to saving and enjoying life.

Best wishes
