Hi
Managed to end up in about 15k worth of debt, mainly by footy accumlators, had the stupidity and desperation to try and gamble myself out of a problem that just gets worse and worse.
Was interested to know that if other people had anxiety issues as i suffer now and then and put this down to the gambling.
Need to face the fact that i cant gamble my debt away and best to manage what i have.
Makes me feel better knowing im not the only bloody idiot to be such a fool with gambling.
I have ended up sponging money of my gf and mum and making up excuses on why i need the money, i feel so ashamed
Eish me luck
You are definately not alone I am in debt through my gambling habits and I am extremely good at making excuses to loved ones for not having money that I should. I even justify it to myself by skewing the truth.
I also suffer from palpatations and headaches due to the amount of stress I put myself under.
I hope you manage to find your way out of this and I wish you the best of luck!
Anxiety is part and parcel of a gambling addiction. It's what keeps it going. Last October I had to go the doctor to get prescribed anti-anxiety medication before I could start to come off gambling. I stopped taking it in May. I do still suffer from anxiety but it's more manageable now. I try to avoid feeling stressed as this brings back the anxiety and gambling urges.

I suppose it depends on the individual how it starts. Some people gamble to escape depression/anxiety while others become depressed because of it. However it works, it is an extremely vicious cycle to be in.
Affected by gambling?
