Hi Youens , and welcome to the forum , I've never excluded from sites just bookies but the principle is the same I think , you need to contact the site and ask to be self excluded , the only problem is that there are always other sites popping up all over the place , so maybe go down the route of blocking your access to them by downloading blocking software , K9 is a free one but I beleive theres also one called gamblock which you have to pay for , self exclusions help by removing the ability to bet , you could also consider handing over financial control of money or cards to your partner , no money = no bet , its called the time, money , location, triangle if you remove one then you cant bet and it does work but you need a bit of willpower as well !

I've self excluded from all bookies in my area and that cetainly helps me remain gamble free !

Hi youens,

Yes if definitely does work. If you have an email address for them, do it that way - I always found it easier rather than going back on the site and being lured in by the bright lights and temptations again - it's usually support@ casino name .com

It's advisable to ask to be excluded for the maximum amount of time which is usually 5 years, but sometimes forever depending on which casino you use. Let them know you have a gambling addiction, give them your username and date of birth and ask not to be contacted again apart from to confirm they have excluded you (actually insist on that part because some unscrupulous casinos don't confirm it and don't action it, but not many do this, I'm just suspicious if they don't confirm). Once the self exclusion has been confirmed, you will be unable to login again, and will be unable to open up a new account with them. I agree with Alan though, also add the extra layer of protection by downloading blocking software.

Good luck mate.

Morning

re the self exclusion it's worked for me I've SE for all my online accounts and around 50 bookies. I've not tried to get round it nothing to gain in Doing that.

I can't see any reason why you would not do it. It's FREE to do and it might just save you a few grand and a lot pain and suffering.

Self excluding is a must for a compulsive gambler.

Affiliates exclusion is also a great way of excluding from several casinos at the same time. It should also mean any new casinos that pop up that are affiliates should prevent you from joining.

If casinos say they will keep accounts locked, rather than completely closed, tell them you want to close the account permanently. That way you can't just ring or email them and ask them to reopen them.

Also ask to be removed from their mailing lists, not just emails, but text messages and postal also. An email or offer through the post can bring on an urge to gamble again.

Any casinos who refuse or try to tempt you back should be reported.

I would keep copies of emails, it will help you keep track of everything, it's also a reminder in the future of the bad old days and how things are now so much better.
